| Did I do the right thing?Fixed are Sweetie and Oliver I took Sweetie and Oliver in to the Vet on Monday to be fixed. I had mixed feeling about doing it to them. I wanted to breed them together but at this time in my life it would have been to much for me to handle. My friend has been very sick these past two years and if something was to go wrong with Sweetie's breeding I would die. I thought it would be better not to breed. I have two Yorkies and really enjoy having them both in my life....... I cried as I drove away from the Vet after leaving them there. There was no turning back after the sugary was done. I know it is best for the both of them to be fix...... but I'm still a little upset about not breeding them together..... I did do the right thing? Please reply......

| You definitely did the right thing. Breeding is a huge responsibility and requires extensive knowledge of the breed, genetics, whelping a litter, and raising young puppies to do it right. It involves a lot of time and money. Yorkies are being so overbred now and health problems are way too common which is why it's so important to do genetic health screening and know the lines your dogs come from very well. Breeding is best left up to the experts. Your boy and girl will be happy and healthy and can enjoy life just being your babies. You did the right thing If you're truly interested in breeding in the future, start attending dog shows and look for a mentor.
