You definitely did the right thing. Breeding is a huge responsibility and requires extensive knowledge of the breed, genetics, whelping a litter, and raising young puppies to do it right. It involves a lot of time and money. Yorkies are being so overbred now and health problems are way too common which is why it's so important to do genetic health screening and know the lines your dogs come from very well. Breeding is best left up to the experts. Your boy and girl will be happy and healthy and can enjoy life just being your babies. You did the right thing

If you're truly interested in breeding in the future, start attending dog shows and look for a mentor.
