i found these on petedge.com i am going to order some to try out...hehe...i am ordering the filled bones 10 - beefy and 10 - peanut butter.

Thanks for posting this! I hope I find some small ones tomorrow. :D Paisley, Trixie and Snoot will chew on anything but Pia is a little picky. I hope she likes these. :)

Those are "all" beef marrow bones. :D I just had the butcher at Albertsons cut me 14 of these just this afternoon. I left three out for tomorrow and the rest went in the freezer. These bones can be given after boiling or can be given raw. I've never had a cooked one to splinter, and like Cindy said, they last a very long time.

wow we used to have an albertsons but they went out of business...argh!

do they normally just have them laying out or do you just ask them for it...hehe...

does anyone think walmart may have some? or any grocery store?

Hi Sharon - I know you directed this question to Archie, so I hope you don't mind me jumping in with an answer. I have used these bones for as long as I have had yorkies. In the past 4 years I have had to throw away a total of one because it was looking "worn". They are chewed on regularly by six Yorkies and one Boxer. The outside "bone" part is between 1/4 and 1/3" thick. I have found them to be the best of the best for chewing.

I will qualify this by saying that my guys would prefer bully sticks, toes, fingers, etc., and since these items are available only in limited amounts they resort to the bones for regular chewing.

I didn't answer the question.... I have never ever had one to shred. Over the course of 4 years I have had only one that they even put a major dent in - and that one I threw away. This type of bone is a very inexpensive soruce for safe chewing.

I use the same bones that Cindy and Yorkidaze use. I get them from Publix (my grocery store) and they are generally in stock in the meat department. If not I can get the butcher to cut me some too. Murphy and Mia love these bones and after a good boiling they chew on them forever it seems. I have thrown them out after a few months though because they get kind of dry and nasty looking but they are so cheap I buy them for M&M all the time and just keep making them fresh ones as treats. :) :)

They do not shred or splinter! Buddy's been chewing on the same bones
for two years. I have added a new one here and there but believe me
they are the safest thing in the world to give them. They are already
boiled, cleaned and safe. Being such an aggressive chewer I would never
give him anything else.

P.S. I also like the fact that nothing is being ingested.

the message wasnt intended for ONE person, but im new here, and i dont know how to post back to everyone. this is so confusing.
thanks for the reply. the bully sticks STINK so BAD, i know mine love them, but i cnat take that smell. I guess i Should TRY those bones, i just worry about them shredding and them choking on them. thank you.
