Though it may be "kinda" cute... I agree with your hubby - it seems pointless... When we go out, Meka is so anxious to go for a walk... its good excersize, right? I couldnt imagine putting my pup in a stroller to go for a walk... kinda like taking sand to the beach :confused: But, to each his own & hope you find what your looking for :)

Hi---our yorkie gets tired & I thought if I could put him in the stroller I wouldn't have to carry him as much. He is over 9 lbs... He gets so excited and LOVES to walk when we first start out...:)

Its not just kinda cute. Strollers are also very functional. A lot of us take our yorkies to public places. Some places will only allow them in if you have a stroller to keep them enclosed in. It also keeps them safe from strangers and children trying to pet them or pick them up. Its also great for elderly dogs or those with knee problems who can't walk but still enjoy going out.

What brand do you recommend and how much should I expect to pay? I just looked on Ebay and there are pages and pages of strollers--yikes!:)

I agree. My Maltese, Codie, can't walk as much as my Tia (Yorkie) can. So when we walk we bring the stroller along and when Codie gets tired, he goes in and relaxes for the rest of the walk while Tia can still walk/run and enjoy herself. If we didn't have the stroller, we'd have to cut out nightly walk short and then poor Tia would suffer because she NEEDS a longer walk. It also helps out with Cali because she can't walk too far without getting tired. Usually Cali and Codie are in the stroller for the last half of the walk and Tia walks alongside it. She only goes in the stroller when we go to crowded outdoor street festivals.

What brand did you buy? Did you get the triangle-shaped one with 3 wheels? How much did you pay (if you remember)?

I like the Happy Trails brand. I have the pink 4-whell but Happy Trails makes the strollers in 3-wheel in blue and red. If they made it in pink, I'd definitely get one.

Thanks and I greatly appreciate you breaking it down for me... From my own experience, I do know there are places that wont allow pups inside - and I never thought the solution for that to be a "stroller". Though, its not for me - I now have a better understanding :)

I just bought a stroller on ebay, I will have it today. Just waiting on my ex boyfriend to bring up here to my mom's. Figured putting it together and taking her for a walk might be a good way to keep my mind off of next upcoming surgery. Its a stroller, carrier and a car seat, orginally I was just looking for a car seat...but found this and wanted it. I always want to take her for walks but the kids in my neighborhood are too wild and rough. One kid even tried to yank her leash out of my hand so Aurora could be shown to her mom. This young kid swore at me when I said no to her just taking the leash and aurora somewhere. They have tried to push her to the ground, to make her go potty. Aurora loves going outside but unfortunately she is usually stuck inside because of these kids. Figured a stroller will give her protection from all these kids.

I ended up getting the 3-wheel one off Ebay in pink! When I get it I'll post some pics - thanks everyone for all your comments on strollers. Love all the pics that were posted in this thread...all cute.;)

I was always the type. No stroller for my yorkie boy he would be made fun of. So I had front carriers like pockets. He loved them. But last year when he broke his neck there was no way of putting him in the pouches no more and carrying him that way. I had to make sure his neck was safe. So my mom bought him a stroller and it has been a godsend. I take him everywheres in that stroller. I do not need to be so delicate with his neck anymore as much as i did after surgery, but at least when he is in the stroller i know he is safe. He can not walk either so this helps him get out and enjoy the outside in his stroller. he loves it at time. His zips up in the front but when I am some place i know kids are not going to try and touch him or big dogs then I will keep it unzipped. I got mine on Dog.com and we paid I think 79.99 free shipping I had it in a week or so. It was a gift but a well used gift. I do not have any pictures of it but I see a lot of YTer's have the same as myself. Mine is a 4 wheeled happy trails blue stroller.
And for eveyone that asked about being made fun of. I have had such nice comments about his stroller. I have had pregnant women come up to me asking where I got my stoller for my baby. Then they see it is a yorkie and I say at Dog.com. They say well it would be nice for them to make baby strollers like that then people aren't alway trying to touch the babies. I laughed it is funny that my furbaby has a great stroller. I always get wonderful comments on the stroller though.
