Baby Lily
 

Here's a picture of Lily wearing a dress that I ordered from Missy (yougetthesmiles). Missy does excellent work, I love this dress!!

I know this dress is too big on Lily right now, but I just couldn't resisit. I think she looks so pretty in pink.:heart to She's my sweet baby girl.

We have decided on the name "Lily Ann" rather than "Lilly-Belle". It just suits her better. :)

She was 5 weeks old in that picture. She is 6 weeks old today.

She is doing really well, thank you for asking.:) She went from 13 oz. to 1 lb. in 5 days!! I was so excited about that!!! She is a fiesty little thing, has an excellent appetite and eats like a little piggy. I am very pleased with her progress, she is a joy!

Lily Ann is absolutely precious. Her little dress is well, so little, and adorable on her. :p There is no doubt she will thrive under your care. I know you will do everything you can to make her little life happy....:)

OH that is so great! Getting them to eat is usually half the battle. How are her motor skills coming? Is she able to walk any better? I just can't get your Lily off my mind since she reminds me so much of my Lily.

Salina, Diggy and I are just IMing about how you are our HERO, (and Lily's too) So glad she is gaining weight. She can feel your love.

I have NO problem getting Lily to eat. I'm feeding her Esbilac with a bottle for now, and I'm feeding her every 3 hours around the clock, even if I have to wake her up. Fluid intake is VERY important for her, as it helps her to get rid of any excess fluid. She had alot of swelling around her eyes....that is gone now. Her head is also not as swollen. She is really good about drinking water too, and gobbles down wet puppy food mixed with Esbilac.

As for her motor skills, she does better each day. She is a fiesty little thing, let me tell ya. We let her walk around in the kitchen because it's easier for her. Her nails get stuck in the carpet in the living room, and that makes it hard. She is getting stronger, so we encourage her to walk. We literally get down in the floor with her and, if we call her, she will come to us. She gets excited and happy and wags her little tail and then almost tries to run lol. She will play a little bit with toys. She tires easily though because she has to work extra hard at everything she does. But, she is one determined little girl. Her balance is improving, and she is doing less circling than she was.

One thing that truly amazes me about her is that she will not potty in her crate. I have fleece bedding and also plenty of blankets. She seems to like to sleep with her head propped up a bit. Sometimes she will whimper a little and start squirming around. At first, I didn't know what was wrong if it wasn't feeding time. After a few times of this, I realized that she needs to potty and can't find a spot in the crate to go. She won't go on any blankets or bedding, so we keep it completely covered so she won't pee in the corner or something. We take her out and put her on a pee pad, and she goes. She has only had one accident, and that's when she peed on my husband. I tried to tell him that she had to pee. I could tell by the way she kept squirming around so much. But, he wouldn't listen.:rolleyes:

She truly is a joy and watching her grow and improve is very rewarding to me!

Thanks Paula, but Lily is the true hero here. She's much tougher than people think. She's a very strong, determined little girl.:)

:) :) :) :) :) I had to post again - I got teary reading that - especially when you said you get down on the floor and she's wagging her little tail with happiness....Please keep us updated on this girl - I'm just tickled she's doing so well.

She is doing incredible! I just cannot believe it! You're right. Fluid intake is so very important and you're doing everything just perfect. Do you have any idea how amazing it is that the swelling in her head and around her eyes has gone down? It means that you've done nothing short of a miracle. I have this HUGE smile with tears running down my face right now.

You give me so much hope for my Lily.

Well, u know EXACTLY how I feel about this whole situation and I just cannot believe the difference in little Lily! She looks soooo much better! Her eyes are just so alert now and she knows whats going on! Please keep the pictures coming!! She still looks like my lil precious moment baby!! Sorry I havent been on but I was outside with the kids most the night then shower...Ill PM ya in a lil bit! Take care and give Lily kisses from Diggy and Bella!:p

It is touch and go with my Lily everyday. She has good days and bad days. She doesn't eat very well and has to be hand fed. She has not grown in a couple of months. She is almost 7 months old and is barely 2 lbs. She drinks water on her own very well though. She cries out a lot and sometimes seems confused and very tired but she never seems to be in pain thank goodness. She also seems very happy and she and Dixie just love to play which makes me feel good when I watch them.

She is having another bile acid test done next week (She has MVD as well). If her levels are normal, then we will start her on steroids.
