The silk is cool to the touch and the cottony warm to the touch Thanks Villette. |
I think my oldest is Cottony and my little one is Silky. Pebbs has the red eyes and Sasha has the green eyes. |
not sure what apollo is, maybe someone can tell me? hes 12 weeks old..... http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...e/HPIM0143.jpg http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/HPIM0145.jpg http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/HPIM0147.jpg http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...o/HPIM0140.jpg |
3 Attachment(s) I think Hannah is silky, but I am not sure. Sometimes her coat doesn't look as silky as others. Her eyes flash green. |
1 Attachment(s) Here's Nathan. |
Nathan, surely has a silky coat because it reflects light. Apollo I would say the same for his head , but his legs look different It will take some time to tell on Apollo. What an adorable face. Nathan looks so much like my first yorkie and what a love she was. I bet there is Heskethane in his pedigree. |

Thanks for starting this thread. Very interesting and a great excuse to see more pictures! |
3 Attachment(s) Pixie without the bow in my Avatar is silky and a dream to take care of. Cali with the bow is cottany and very hard to groom. |

thank you, the little guy is full of energy!! and i notice the diff, between his face and legs too, weird, could it be his puppy coat, or when do they start growing there adult coat? he has alot of silver underneath his black, also ive noticed his eyes come out blueish greenish, and if i remmeber correctly his dad had a silky coat, didnt meet his mom though |
It's really hard to tell from a picture but I could mention a book you might be able to get from the library and it's the only yorkie book with an indepth study of the coat. The Complete Yorkshire Terrier by Joan B Gordon and Janet E. Bennett. My edition starts on page 209 for that type of information. Chapter 7 |
