Boarding my precious puppy, I'm soooo scared
 

Oh, I so know how you feel! My older Yorkie Toy has been at the "Dog Hotel" several times now and he always does well, and he always remembers us and is excited to see me when I pick him up. But I have a 12 week old new baby girl Yorkie now and we're also going on vacation next month. It was supposed to be a week long one, but I was so reluctant to leave her that I actually cut the vacation short to 4 days. I want to see first how she's handling it. I almost called off the whole thing, but even though I love, love, love my dogs, I have to think about my husband and son who, like myself, have earned that vacation and NEED a vacation :shade: . If she does do great, then we will probably go on several short trips instead of one long one, preferably to places where I can take them with us!!!!! What I hate the most though is, boarding facilities require all those shots and I oppose "over- vaccinating" my dogs, I have good evidence to the contrary of annual boosters and dogs over the age of 8 don't need them anymore at all, so it's hard to find a private person to agree to host them. I don't trust anybody, even to the point of paranoid! Have any of you tried another route, other than a boarding facility? I've heard of an agency that facilitates boarding services in an approved host's home.
