Question about plant 2 Attachment(s) My neighbor has this really big tree and it is in bloom does anyone know if the Fruit that it is dropping ok for the dogs to eat. I know that someone told me one time that we could eat them but is it ok for the dogs. I have found our Yorkie with one and our Lab eat one too. I just don?t want to end up with two sick dogs. |
What type of fruit is it. I have never seen this type. |
Funny. The foliage looks like a very LARGE plumeria. But they don't fruit. |
I don't know what kind of fruit it is I do not even want to eat it because I don't know I was hoping that maybe someone on here would be of help. |
nevermind, dumb guess is it a fig tree maybe? |
The leaves are not of a fig tree. I thought this at first too. I'm going to go look in my Sunset Western Garden book. Ok, it's a strawberry tree. (Arbutus unedo) All have ornamental bark, clusters of little urn-shaped flowers, decorative edible fruit, handsome foliage. Native to eastern Mediterranean. Looks like the fruit wont hurt the dogs. |
Thanks I was a little worried about it! I did not know what it was all I know is that I never cared about it tell I noticed the dogs eating the fruit. It is a real pretty tree and I don't know how the fruit tasted and I am a little scarred to eat it, because I do not know much about it. |
