Hi everyone!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am new to Yorkietalk and have been using for the past few days. I absolutely love this website. So far everyone has been super nice and very helpful. :) Thank you all so much!!

I just wanted to let everyone know that my baby came home today. :Puppy: I just got home a little while ago from picking her up at the airport. I can't even explain how excited I am. She is so beautiful and soooooooo tiny!! Right now she is sleeping on my lap. I new she was going to be tiny but I didn't think this tiny. She is 13 weeks old and weighs 1.8 lbs. She should be around 3-4 lbs. full grown. I hope around 4 or a little bigger. I just can't believe how tiny she is.I have a couple of pictures of her that the breeder sent me that were take a little over a week ago, but only the one from when she was 9 weeks will fit into the file. It is saying the other one is too big, so I will try to attach it in another post. I hope it will work though She is so happy and loves to play. When I first got her at the airport I thought she would be scared and shaking a little from the stress of the flight. NOT AT ALL!!! She started licking my face and touching my face with her paws. She has been running around and has already hopped over the bar on the bottom of my kitchen table chairs. I couldn't believe it. She has finally settled down a little bit and is now taking a nap. I bet she has to be exhausted from the flight. My other yorkie Lexi is 7 years old and weighs around 11 lbs. She has always been the only dog in our house and so far really doesn't want anything to do with the puppy. Yet, the puppy totally wants to play with her. Lexi kind of just looks at her and sniffs her a little and walks away. Lexi has always been very spoiled and is used to being my dad's little girl. She is sooo attached to him. Well I hope she warms up to the new baby of the house. I know it will take some time for her to get used to the new puppy being around. I think I am going to name the new baby Emmie. What do you guys think?? Well thanks for all the help. I love this website and hope to meet many new friends. I will try to attach the pictures but I'm not exactly sure how to do it. So I hope it works. I know I will not be able to sleep tonight because I am so excited. I already feel like I can't leave her alone for 5 seconds. I already love her so much.

Hey Everyone-

For some reason it won't let me attach the other pictures. It is saying the file is too big. Does anyone know how to manage this or will it not work no matter what. I really wanted to send them. They were taken last week and she looks so cute with a little shirt and bow on her head. Thanks for any help!! :)

Lucy and I want to congratulate you on your new family addition. I really like the name Emmie. She is adorable. Have fun with her, I know you'll enjoy her.

i just wanted to give you some advice if thats cool. 1- lexy is going to get sad and your puppy is always going to want to play and lexy is to old for all of that. so she is just going to run away. so be sure to give her attention first always. 2- make sure there is nothing on the floor cables or anything. they put everything in there mouths

Emmie is a doll! I love the name as well!

You are soooo lucky to have not one, but two yorkies!

I'm sure they'll get along just fine, may take some time though.

I have a question for you, since you already had a girl and got another one,

is it because you prefer the girls, or just decided on another one? I ask this

because we've got "pick of the litter" and will be going to look at the babies

(two boys and one girl) in June, I can't wait!!!!!

I'm not sure exactly why I wanted a girl yorkie. We have had Lexi for the past 7 years and she really took to my Dad as well as my brother and other males. She likes females it just seems like she attaches more to males. She may have attached to my Dad because he was the one who was always home with her when she was young once he got home from work. I was always on the run as I was in high school at the time we got her. I guess I wanted to get another girl because I really wanted to dress her up in cute little clothes and put bows in her hair and get cute little things in pink. Lexi is our family dog and never liked to have clothes on or bows in her hair. I guess we probably should have put them on her more as a puppy. Emmie is actually my full responsibility. She was a graduation present from my boyfriend. So I will be the one who takes the most care for her. My boyfriends mom has a boy and it seems like he really attaches more to females. Either one would be great!! No matter if you get a female or male it will attach the most to who ever takes care of it and spends the most time with it. Good luck with your decision. You will absolutely love your puppy. They are just precious little babies. Hope this helps. :)

I am soooooo happy for you !!! Don't worry your other dog will warm up to her.
Just makes sure for every "I love you, your soooo cute" that you tell your puppy that you tell your other dog the same thing at the same time.

I was thinking you'd say one would be as good as the other, lol! We all can't wait to see the litter though, and I have a feeling we'll all know just which one we want by just seeing them. Boy or Girl???? Who know's!
