| Camilla - 'Millie' - gets introduced to Charles! We brought home 8 week old Millie on Friday - a medium Yorkie from a great breeder in Chalftont St Giles at Turners Wood Farm. Highly recommended. Millie is our first dog so it's gonna be a learning curve! We have a lovely 3 year old male Ragdoll x Persian called Charlie Cheesecake who is slowly getting used to the idea of sharing his pad with a Yorkie..... Millie isn't scared of the cat - though she's minute in comparison, Charlie has other ideas and is still weighing up the new curious furry thing that keeps coming his way. Millie gave us one helluva sleepless night on Friday but according to all the books and research, this is quite normal. We apologised to the neighbours yesterday but thankfully as dog owners they were fine with it, and it brought back memories for them of the first night in a new home!! Millie is enjoying our company, she wants to 'be us' and into everything we do. She's slowly getting used to her confined area and crate though is taking some calming down. She loves Classic FM and her favourite toy is 'Chicken' a stuffed toy a bit bigger than her, a nice snuggly companion for her. Any tips on how to prevent continuous loud yelps for 30 minute intervals would be much appreciated!! For a wee thing she's LOUD!! We have tried a water spray, she loves it - not the idea i don't think. We have tried pasta in a bottle and shaken it at her but she is not deterred either. We ignore her and she continues crying. Enjoy the pics and any advice you can give to a newbie is welcome ! |

| Here is my $80 advice for free. I actually hired a trainer to come into my home to help with this same problem. Place a few coins into an empty pop/soda can and tape the opening shut. Do this with about 12 cans. Put 3 cans into a grocery-type plastic bag and tie the bag shut. Make up 4 of these bags. After putting your baby in the crate, when she begins yipping, from OUT OF SIGHT throw the bag in her direction.( you don't want her to see you doing this) and give a firm "NO" or "STOP". If she begins again, repeat. I had to do this ONE night. That was it!!! After that, he was great about going into the crate. Good luck. And by the way...Millie is beautiful. |
