Lacey's TERRIBLE haircut!
 

I accidentally went a little scissor crazy on Lacey's hair the other night (JUST HER BANGS) so I took her to a groomer I don't usually go to and said I just wanted her TRIMMED everywhere...I said I wanted her hair to be about 2-3 inches on the side...LOOK WHAT THEY DID TO HER! My mom and dad think she looks great but I absolutely hate it. Needless to say, I'll NEVER go to them again! Before and after pictures are included! The first one is with my parent's dog Maggie (Lacey loves cuddling w/ her!)...her hair in this picture, I love. Then the after, she looks like a shaved poodle.

Awww come on it doesnt look that bad, I think that she is pretty with long hair or short. It will grow back and then when you look back at pics you will realize that it wasnt so bad after all!

I had a very similiar expereince at PetSmart Groomers and will never go back. She really looks cute with long or short hair. I go back and fourth with Bailey depending on the season. It's just hair, and will grow back.

even though I don't like it either, she is so cute it doesn't matter.

The neat thing about hair, is it grows back. Many times I will keep my Yorkies cut a little longer than this, just because they are tom boys and are forever matting their hair. However, I do keep the hair on their face long. You didn't say how bad you mangled the hair on her face ~ was the groomer trying to even everything up? She is an adorable dog with or without long hair.

Thanks everyone!! She is like my little baby so I make a big deal out of everything, so of course her first major haircut disaster is the biggest deal in the world to me! All I had cut was right over her eyes so instead of having to keep it pulled up all the time it wouldn't be in her eyes when it was down. I didn't do THAT much damage, but still...I guess it'll all be back in about a month. :)

It's not that bad! What a cutie she is! I'm always amazed how fast their hair grows.

We had a similar experience with Lillie, except they cut the hair on her head really short and left her body long, so she looked like her head didn't match the rest of her! But it is only hair and grew out really fast.

She is adorable even with the short haircut. Look at her face....what a little beauty!!! Her hair will grow fast and in a couple weeks it will look a lot better. She is still precious :)

It takes awhile to find someone who will cut your furbabie's hair the way you like it (if you ever find someone).

I actually have someone that does a SUPER job on her (from the first pic) and she was unavailable for 3 weeks so I had to find a quick alternative...hence the terrible cut, lol! Anyway, next time I'll gladly wait the 3 extra weeks! When you all get your babies cut, do the groomers let you stay and watch? Mine does, and I love that!

Hello. I agree with everyone. She does not really look that bad. Does she seem happy with the cut? :) Well, either way, she is cute and does not look bad. Just don't bring her back there if you don't like it. That's all! Cute pup though.

Whatever you do, don't tell Lacey that she got a bad haircut. It will make her self concious and hurt her self-esteem (if that is possible with a Yorkie). :D

Personally, I do agree that her muzzle hair was cut too short for her face, giving her to look of an underbite/overbite (whatever you call it haha). But is it at all possible that you chopped on her so much that she was so uneven that all the groomer could do to even her up would have been to take her hair on her head that short. Her body, if you said the inch of length you wanted, the groomer shouldn't have screwed up. My point being, a lot of times we get people in who have hacked all over their dogs and the only hope of "trimming" them is to trim/cut it all to one length so that it grows out evenly, instead of growing unevenly and in turn looking 10 times worse. And most parents are too stubborn to admit they cut just a little too much and a little to not so great than they should have. I think, for a yorkie in a shorter cut, she looks great. With the exception of the hair on her muzzle. You just have to remember it is hair. And Yorkie hair grows FAST! Next time, just be SUPER clear in what you want. Just saying, "oh like a few inches off here, and I want her face to stay long but not oo short, ya know?" doesn't cut it with a groomer. To get EXACTLY what you want, you have to be SPECIFIC. And then there are groomers out there that just don't know what they're doing (*cough*PetSmart/PetCo*cough*). lol I can't WAIT 'til all groomers have to be licensed. I hope that helps you with your next grooming trip. And don't fret so much! She does look cute and it will grow back. :)

Well, I actually printed pictures off here of dogs hair that I liked. I showed the pictures to her and she said, "Don't even bother sweetie, I already know what I'm going to do with her." Well that right there should have stopped me from leaving her! But oh well, I understand now that it'll grow back, I am just upset because it was her first major disaster we've had. Thank goodness it has only been with her hair! :)

Oh lord!!! I can't believe she did that. She should have at least looked at the pictures and then said what was possible and what couldn't be done. Whew, yeah I don't know that I'd go back to her. A groomer is supposed to work with what you want, not what they think they want to do. Man, that really amazes me

thats too short to be called as a trimmed..that groomer as got it all wrong..poor dear..now bare...

But the fur will grow, and very soon it'll be back as she is.

I think she's still as cute as can be. She has a really sweet face. It's nice to change up their style a few times here and there. Otherwise, you'll never know what you really like on her. As you may have seen on a thread I posted, I play with Monkey's hair all the time. He's got a totally crazy cut right now! I think he likes the change. How does your little girl like her cut? Don't worry, if you truely don't like it when you get used to it, it will grow and you can try something new next time. My groomer takes a picture every time I change Monkey's cut so he can look back when I say "hey, remember that crazy cut I did with the blah, blah, blah". When you do get a cut you really like, take a picture of it so you can have it should you change groomers or if your regular is not available. Of course, do this when you actually find one you like! :D
