Thanks everyone. I never expected to be raising a puppy but he is turning out to be such a fantastic lovable "little" guy, worth all the extra work and puppy destruction. I love watching him grow up and become more doggy than puppy. When I snuggle him and tell him how wonderful he is, he looks at me with his "love eyes." I think most, if not all of you know what I mean. SilkyMama, he is definitely very muscular...well, maybe more pudgy, but very solid. His paws are still large for his current size. Definitely not a dainty dog at all! Mercgirl, he was actually 10.5 pounds at 6 months when he had his "operation", I had guessed 11. I just had his stitches removed this past weekend, two weeks later and he has gained another pound. This chart puts him around 12-13 pounds full grown which I think might be a bit on the light side. However, he does seem to be a little chunky right now. I'm glad they come in all shapes and sizes. I visualized having two about the same size and appearance. Now I enjoy the differences. My only issue, two expensive extra small (up to 10 lbs) sliding glass dog doors purchased before I realized how big he would be. So far he fits through, but... |
Moose is 15 weeks and 5 lbs. But I think he has 1/4 westie in him. I have heard that if you neuter them right under or at the 6 minth mark they tend to stay a little smaller I'm not sure if anyone can attest to that? He is adorable tho your little fellow! And sometimes they grow fast and then sort of slow down towards the end! |
He is an adorable yorkie. Shield is around 10 lbs full grown. It sounds like them are similar in size as long as yours doesn't grow anymore. I prefer the bigger yorkies. Less likely to get hurt and more sturdy. I would think tiny pups have more health issues, though I don't know if it's true. Both your pups are very cute! |
