Is this a crossbreed? i cant tell Hi i am getting a yorkie pup on 14th april going to call him chewie, but my mum thinks he is a cross breed but i have seen the sellers pics and both mum and dad are yorkies. View image: IMG 0046 someone clarify please either way its a cutie <3:animal36 |
It's really hard to tell, but my first impression is (besides him being cute) is that his ears are down. He may still be too young, but it has been my experience that well bred dogs ears are up by 8 or 9 weeks. Even if his just haven't popped up or he is scared and just keeping them down, the set (where they are situated on the head) of them looks low to me indicating that there may be some other breeds in his background. Also hard to tell from his pictures and not knowing his age, but he looks rather big. |
hey hey in this pic hes 6 weeks old |
Kinda hard to tell from a picture, face looks like a yorkie, but the hair look course, again it's hard to tell with this picture. |
Wow, looks big for six weeks so still time for the ears to come up. Even purebred Yorkies, have different types of coats. If you want a long coat then you have to have one bred to have a silky coat. If you see any curl or wave then the coat is not silky and is harder to keep groomed and a "puppy cut" usually looks best. |
Yorkie Looks like a typical impish Yorkie pup to me. :) You are right, he is very cute ..... and cuddly too. Enjoy your new baby. |
Looks Yorkie to me. If he's mixed it's hard to tell because he's is so young. It might be easier to tell as your pup gets older. He's really cute regardless. I say enjoy him too! |
it can be hard to tell. My Dinky has floppy ears, and his hair seems sort of wavy when it gets to a certain length. He had some other breeding flaws. I'm pretty confident that he has some poodle in there somewhere. His father came from a breeder my brother got his Yorkie from. So I knew a little but not enough. I'm okay with Dinky's problem with that is that she did almost nothing to socialize him. That is an important facet of good breeding. |
He IS adorable! |
Too young to tell yet. They change so much in the first year and the ears flop sometimes because they have so much hair on them. Enjoy him, he is a doll. |
Different kinds of Yorkies, some are lighter others are darker. Hes a cutie pie! |
