Just a few more hours, and I'll have my new furbaby!
 

I've been searching for what feels like months (really it's just been a couple) and I finally found my new furbaby :)

She'll be 10 weeks and one day old when I bring her home tomorrow after work. It's going to be the longest 8 hours of my life!

I visited her about a week ago and just fell in love. I looked for so long for the perfect pup for me, and I'm so glad I was patient and diligent in my search.

I'm a little on edge tonight, though. I tried to get in contact with the breeder this evening to just kind of remind her what time I would be there and she didn't answer, nor did she call me back. However, the last time I called her that late, she didn't get back to me until about noon the next day, so maybe she just doesn't take calls past a certain time. I know it's silly, but I'm going out of my mind. I pray she contacts me by tomorrow, but I'm driving to her house no matter what:D

I've named her Maisy and I'm so excited. I can't wait to stop by the pet stores on the way home and pick up some extra stuff. I did splurge and buy her a cute red bandana, though. I haven't been this excited in forever! I attached a link to some photos from our visit (that's my boyfriend holding her), hope you like her!

Congrats!!! Maisy is adorable and her name suits her! I know you probably won't sleep a wink, but try to rest because tomorrow night you will be awake keeping an eye on the new baby! I know I did when I brought Huey home. I just couldn't keep my hands off him!:D

Ooooh exciting times :happyboun Has the breeder gotten back in touch yet? Perhaps they were busy with the puppies or another prospective buyer? I'm sure everything will be fine and darling Maisy (great name! :thumbup: ) will soon be home and bossing you and boyfriend around :D

Oh, believe me, Marhcarter, I did exactly what you said and stayed up most of the night. I'm paying for it now, but I can't even get myself to take a nap! I feel pretty sleepy, but as soon as I go to lay down, I can't stop thinking and getting excited! I'll regret it later, I'm sure.

Turns out I was just overreacting, the breeder contacted me this morning and I felt pretty silly for panicking:D

I'm picking her up in about 2 hours, I'm so nervous too, not sure why!

You guys sure know how to make a girl feel welcome! It's nice to share this excitement with others, especially when everyone around me is looking at me like I've lost my mind! Thanks again, and I agree, she's adorable!:)

Well, she's here! Everything went great, the breeder impressed me with everything she had ready to give me with Maisy (this is my first time using a breeder, so I didn't know what to expect). And as for Maisy, she's a pretty calm, well mannered little girl.

She didn't like the car much, but she calmed down after awhile. She was adored by everyone who met her, and in total she made about 11 new friends today, not including myself, my kitten and ferret!

Her and the kitten seem to be best buds! The ferret is a bit wary, though.

Right now she is OUT COLD on my lap :D We are both exhausted, and I don't want to wake her, but I hope she doesn't stay awake all night :rolleyes:

She is the cutest, sweetest pup I've ever seen and I don't think I could be happier. She also follows me around everywhere and seems to really like my boyfriend too, which he's happy about since our last pup was afraid of men.

The night before I got Cookie I couldn't get a second of sleep because of the excitement (I always get like that the night before I have an awesome hike planned too).

Ooops, didn't read this far in the thread to see you actually got her already! Isn't that an awesome feeling when you pup sleeps in your lap the first day you have her?

Haha yes, she's been doing a LOT of sleeping. It worries me a little since I think it will mean she'll have a hard time sleeping tonight and might keep us up. I wouldn't mind that much, but my boyfriend has work in the morning, so he probably wouldn't appreciate it...

She's eating well and has pottied twice since I got her, so she seems in good health. I'm surprised how well she's taken to this big change. She seems to be really attached to both of us, is really calm and seems quite at home. She even started playing with the ferret, it was adorable!

Yorkiefan, I barely got any sleep the night before! I'm the same way, and now the hiking should be even better once she's big enough to come along! I'm loving having a puppy, but I'm also really looking forward to her growing up enough to come with me swimming, hiking, biking, and whatever else we can think of.

I am so excited for you. She is just too cute.

Be sure she has all her shots before you take her out and about can't be to careful with these babies she is soooooooooooooocute.

Oh, I will definitely be keeping her home until she's fully vaccinated. She's already had her first two shots, so that's good.
