Beard cuts for summer

We trimmed our beards for summer. Teddy looks so poofy after his bath. :p Believe it or not, there isn't much dog under all of that hair.

They are so beautiful!!! Beard question: Huey's beard is nowhere as long as your babies, but it gets in his food and water when he eats, and beside the fact that it causes him to bob his head while eating so he doesn't get it in his mouth, it also gets cruddy looking very fast. Do you tie theirs back for meals? They are so smooth and untangled...

I don't tie their hair back, but I do have to supervise and make sure they don't get hair in their mouths. Some people use "snoods" like the show dogs when their dog eat. You can make a snood out of a sock. It's easy to put on and take off. Dog Snood for Clean Ears » Dog Grooming - Glendale, CA

This is a great idea, never would have thought of it. Thanks for the info and your dogs are really beautiful! Just love how they look!!

Thank you. I have seen these (snoods) before but never really thought about it. Kinda stuck in my head as a show dog thing, like wrapping up their coats. Again, how you keep their beards so gorgeous is amazing. That is the worst fight I have with Huey... Trying to comb his face:D

beautiful and I love their cuts!! That is how I wanted Pixie's hc and last time I went to the groomer they cut it way too short and this is what I got:eek:
I about cried when I picked her up. here is the bf and after...it will take forever to grow:(

WOW! Why would they have cut her so short? She is cute as can be either way, but I understand your pain. I would just be livid if I took Huey in that long and brought him out that short. It will grow, though, and she is still beautiful. It looks like a really nice cut, just short.

I asked for a shaping up and a trim.....I don't know why she did this and I have been going to her since pixie was 5 months old:( I was so sad afterwards but it is already starting to grow that was about 2 months ago my avatar pic is more recent.
