I don't think it will hurt your pup to come to you at 11 weeks instead of 12 weeks, but if you have the option, why not wait one more week? Those last 4 weeks of the 12 weeks aid the puppy in socialization skills such as biting. Alita, I didnt know better and brought my Huey home at 7 1/2 weeks :eek: We both survived and he is a great, healthy dog, but I think that many of his issues like his skittishness might not have been so bad if he had been a little better socialized before I brought him home. I didn't know enough about yorkies to even be concerned about things like hypoglycemia that I have since learned. I am very lucky he didn't have any problems :rolleyes:
You are very lucky to have found YT before bringing your new baby home. There are many knowledgeable people on this site and everyone is absolutely passionate about yorkies! I hope you stick around a long time and learn lots and share your experiences with us, too. |
