Buddy is doing well learning tricks, he knows sit and lay down. He knows them both when we verbally say the names or when we do hand motions, or both at once! I'm going to start with stay, and once he has that down, hopefully move on to roll over, play dead, shake, lots of tricks! I love training dogs tricks so this will be fun! I took some pictures this past weekend that came out really nice. My baby is growing up so fast! The one problem we have is that when we leave home, he goes in his cage. 90% of the time that we leave him at home, he has diarea in his cage. Even if he poops right before we leave. Its like it stresses him out to that point. http://i1254.photobucket.com/albums/...budpics023.jpg http://i1254.photobucket.com/albums/...dpics003-1.jpg http://i1254.photobucket.com/albums/...budpics012.jpg |
We got Buddy a toothbrush, I forget the brand name but its a mini toothbrush, the bristle part is about 2 cm long. He is doing really well and just sits there and lets me brush his teeth. I've been taking him to the pet store when I go, and he does well with other dogs overall. It is the dogs that are very hyper and excited that he freaks out about. If the dog is hyper he runs and tries to hide, and if the dog continues to try to get to him, he will nip the dog. However, if it is a calm dog, he does perfectly fine. He still goes potty in the cage if we leave home, so weve been putting him in the laundry room with DeeOhJee while were gone, and he has no accidents, probably because he isnt alone. |
Buddy is sooooo cute! I am sure he would rather be with DeeOhJee instead of being alone. Georgie gets stressed when we leave too. Georgie is the same way with the wild fur balls. He is fine if they are calm but seems to get irritated if they are hyper. I think that's fairly common. |

Just seeing this now...Buddy is adorable, he is lucky to have you as his mama! :) |
Buddy is so cute and I love that you are making this thread into a journal for him! So neat to read and see updates! |
He has grown so much! He is an absolute cutie =D |
Wow. Just read this whole thing. I love this! So adorable. Do you still continue crate training or do you leave him with DeeOhJee now when you leave? |
handsome little fella! |

We still have to deal with him pooping in his cage, he gets a bath like 3 times a week because of it :( |
I'm sorry to hear that. I have read some places online and just basing on other forum posts in the past that 'sometimes' leaving a dog crated can leave them even more stressed or provoke the separation anxiety symptoms. What happens if you leave the dog to himself in the house, not crated? Or if just left in one persons room but not crated? Does he still go to the bathroom in the house? |

Buddy's adult teeth have come in but some of his baby teeth are still in place. We've got a vet appointment for Monday so the vet can determine if they need to be pulled out. |

Yes they will do it separately |
Buddy went to the vet today. While examining his teeth, one of his puppy teeth fell out!! :O The vet said that if there are any remaining puppy teeth in one month, that they'd remove them. Also, in October when he went to the vet, the vet said that one of his testicles hadn't dropped & that the longer it takes them to drop, there's a greater risk for cancer. Well now it still hasn't dropped and the vet said that at this point it probably won't ever drop & he highly recommends neutering. He said he'd give us a deal if we neuter buddy at his office when he gets his teeth removed that he won't charge for the removal of the teeth, just $289 for the neutering. |
