He JUST now (at the end of the summer, go figure :rolleyes:) is starting to get a bit of a running start and leaping... instead of just jumping onto the raft first THEN jumping in, or going in all lame (like the last part of the video LoL)

He's been jumping in like this for a week now and I was so excited, finally got it on tape :)


Now... to get this boy into some dock diving comps...

So now that he's getting better jumps, I have faith that we can someday do a dock diving competition!

That is so amazing! He looks like he's loving the water. That takes a pretty confident dog to leap into the water like that. Does he always know to go to the steps to get out?

My last yorkie loved going in the pool, but that was when I had an inground pool with steps which she knew to swim to (and just liked playing on and laying on the top one).

Now with ZoE I have a small above ground pool and she doesn't like it at all. I think because she swims to a side and then panicks until I can grab her. She loves her lil wading pool though & she swims in the lake at my friends house, so I know she likes water. I'd love for her to be as confident in the water as Jackson.

Yep, he always goes right to the steps!

Is there some kind of ramp you could put in, so that she has an easy access to get in/out? I don't think Jackson would like if he did not have an exit per say either.

Thank you! We did find a few dock diving events nearby coming up. We also found a facility very close that has "open swims" so I think I am going to test him out!

Jackson is DA MAN:D!!!! You've done such a great job with him, he is such a super boy:love: My two absolutely hate the pool. I only make them go in it when they look really hot. They don't seem to mind getting a quick dip and then being held in our arms, but if we let them go, they swim right to the steps and get out:laugh:

My stepmoms dog Buddy HATES the pool -- he won't go near it :rolleyes: He's the one who needs it (really overweight). Lilly the JRT you see in the video can take it or leave it. She enjoys it on a hot day because she's running around so much, and she loves to lay on the step, but she never voluntarily jumps in. She falls in all the time tho. :p
