OMG I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! Jackson you are such an amazing pup!!!!!! I love how your little brother is clapping and diving in too. Huge smiles watching this video! Thanks for posting it

:) that's great Brit. I can't wait to see videos of Jackson competing! I could never get Lilo to be happy in the pool although I'll keep trying.lol :) shed rather be a agility racer then a water baby. But we hope to change that soon. It's always great to see a yorkie in action!

It's hard to remember that is a Yorkshire Terrier carrying on like a Labrador Retriever or Duck Toller or something! He seems so comfortable going into the water that you have to shake your head when you remember his actual breed. He really seems totally fearless in that environment. You've really brought him along to the point that before long you likely will be working on dock-diving form and distance, etc. This dog belongs in his own reality show, I'm telling you.

He cracks me up living the life of anything but what one would think today's millenium Yorkie lives! I think today the typical person hears the word "Yorkie" and sees in their mind's eye a yappy, pampered little toy dog dolled up in a topknot with fancy bows, a flowing coat of silk lying about on fancy, satin cushions with lots of gourmet treats, a doggie armoire full of fancy, monogramed outfits and sequined accessories. Action Jackson is a far from that Yorkie stereotype as a dog can get!

Thank you! :p I do love my boy to pieces. I am so lucky I did not get a frilly lap dog, it ended up working out great for me. But I never really raised him like that either, never carried him around a lot, and always let him explore and try new things and encouraged!

Believe it or not, I've seen a LOT of Yorkies on youtube that were pool lovers- and it actually surprised me!

Here was some cute ones I found on youtube (any of them YT'ers???)


Check out this deep sea diver (Jax would not even think of doing this... lol hates getting his head under)

But there's a lot more, I was surprised! I think we often forget these guys are terriers first and foremost!

Aww thanks! Def keep trying! It didn't happen overnight for Jackson... his first summer, he never dived in. I would put him in (he would lay on the stairs tho by himself) and he always seemed to enjoy it okay. I just gave him lots of encouragement (and treats sometimes!) and acted so happy. The next summer, I got him a life jacket, and by mid-summer, he was jumping onto a raft first then into the water (which is what he did all the way until this summer). He is almost 4 and just now is diving in without the aid of a raft!

Lilo also makes a great name for Yorkies out there... weighing in at, what, less than 4lbs?! She shows 'em how it's done! What a great advocate for the breed.

Jackson is too cool! That would be great to get him into some competitions!
