What makes me go "hmmm" is that you clearly value, advertise openly, and are proud that your baby came from champion lines. Champion denotes that the dog conformed perfectly to breed standards in conformation, temperament and coloring, yet you thumb your nose at those very standards and breed away from those standards. It certainly makes a reader wonder if "champion lines" is perhaps less a source of pride and more of a marketing tool. I was also taught that one should only breed for the betterment of the breed, (according to breed standards), and that pups who do not meet those standards should be sold as "pet only" to discourage reproduction of imperfect dogs and imperfections in a line. When dogs are advertised as being bred "first and foremost" to supply "lifelong friends and companions" for other people, again, I can't help but wonder what the true motivation is behind the breeder.
Please understand, I am in no way saying that your dogs are unhealthy, and yes, they are lovely and sweet natured, but by the choices you have made, their champion pedigree is a now a moot point. A good breeder should, with time, stand on the pride of their own line's conformation to breed standards, and not solely take a free ride on the backs of the past champions in the dog's pedigree.
The definition of a reputable breeder is not just a matter of opinion. There are standards to be met. A breeder's motivation should always be examined and considered.

COLOR DOES NOT HURT .GENETIC PROBLEMS LIKE PATELLA LUXATION OR PHERTES DOES HURT.That genetic problem is generally connected with show dogs!If the show breeders did the selection ethically why are thoose problems present???
aLSO IS THAT ETHICAL TO rehome the retired dogs??Or keep them in crates ??

Why yes she did come from 2 standard yorkies, she came out chocolate. What do you wish me to do with her? Get rid of her? Pretend she doesn't exist? Hide her and act like she was never born? Sorry not in my lifetime. As the song goes SHE WAS BORN THAT WAY!!! I love her color and I don't judge and am not prejudice because of color. I think that makes me special!
Society tells us that fat or overweight people are deviant. Smokers are deviant. People who don't comply with our personally learned values or morality are frowned upon.
....OH WELL! IT MATTERS NOT, WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT ME!! GROW UP, CHECK YOURSELF, AND PULL THE TREE OUT OF YOUR OWN EYE BEFORE YOU JUDGE AND CONDEMN ME! I'M NOT ON THIS EARTH TO PLEASE YOU.
Grow up and learn to accept the things that you cannot change.

You totally missed the point. You crow your dog's champion heritage, but thumb your nose at the process, rules and organization that determines them to be champions. I understand that your chocolate was born of 2 standard Yorkies. Do you intend to breed the chocolate or the parents? That's where the issue becomes heated for people. I would not expect you to hide or get rid of your chocolate or do anything other than love her. I never said, nor implied any such thing. I value and cherish all life, and personally, I must not care about color too much since both my Yorkies are way off-colored from the breed standard. I post pictures of my girls all the time, but I would know better than to imply that I'm a breeder, and say "Look at my beautiful, micro-petite, champion line, black and gold girl", and not expect to elicit some sort of a negative reaction. It flies in the face of others who breed and show dogs, and well, comes off sounding a bit pompous and taunting. That's what makes people comment negatively about you as opposed to others. Perhaps it's because it's the written word, but it's your tone, and not jealousy, that brings on the comments. Everybody on here welcomes mixed breed and off-standard Yorkies, and we love them all. I know you say you work hard to develop a nice line, but your own words on your website said you breed dogs "first and foremost" to supply "lifelong friends and companions" for others. Again, that flies in the face of breeders who work first and foremost to improve the breed, and then rehome pet only dogs who do not meet their line standards. Are there unethical show breeders? You bet there are! My goodness, that gets discussed on here every day. I acknowledged that your babies are beautiful, and appear to be healthy. That's not the issue. I just questioned your own words, and your motives for breeding.

I did not miss the point Kim. People on here starting posts about me and trying to discredit me flies in my face also. Always saying I and others who breed colors only breed for the $$$..For me It couldn't be further from the truth. but you don't take the time to know that. You have never spoken to me to begin to know what I am about.
This has been going on for years, I doubt it will ever change. I raise beautiful healthy Yorkshire Terriers, some of them happen to be colorful. I love them and so do other people. What would this world be like if there was never any change? Where would all of the breeds of dogs have came from if no had the guts to buck the standards? I am not a member of the YTCA so I do not have to be accountable to them. It is their standard not mine. The Parti colored yorkie does have a standard written. So I am breeding to that standard. You can find it here I am only one person that loves my colorful yorkies. I don't have sinister motives, I don't breed just to be breeding. I am very selective with my yorkies and I am very selective with who gets them.
It is what it is. No amount of badgering or berating me is going to change me.
Thing is...those who JUDGE...those who are mean, rude and nasty, are the losers in the end. Really, who wants to bother with them? They have much bigger problems than those whom they JUDGE!

Paris is so pretty! I too love all the colours, but i have never seen a chocolate yorkie in here.. but they must look great in real lofe too

oh and p.s, i believe a breeder should be judged by the amount of research time and dedication they bring to breeding, and not the colour of their offspring. my last breeder never advertised teacups (even though ziggy is tiny) and let me in her home to see her dogs, but i am NOT going back to her because she was ignorant and bred puppies withh LS and some even died after 5 days! So i believe there really aren't any rules for saying someone is a bad breeder or a good one... there can be guidelines, but i wouldn't judge you for breeding a different color

She is gorgeous :D

I havent been on YT very long, but it does seem like some ppl like to jump all over Snowblueyorkies. I dont understand why...there are others on here that breed Biewers, yet I dont see the same animosity. JMO what gives??

Not true. Color does affect health. Blue born pups have a high death rate. Chocolate and red Yorkies carry the same gene. Here's an easy reading you can find the actual data if you care. But color can affect health.
Goldenray Genetics Chocolate Yorkies Red Golden or Yorkie Blue Borns CDA

he Op has a pretty dog. Just merely commenting on this post. How certain colors can affect a dogs Health. Chocolate and red dogs can be healthy. But silver and white Yorkies can be also. This isn't a standard and alot of Yokies turn this color. There a poster here who has a Blue Yorkie that is living but it's pretty rare that they do.

Parti Yorkies

Wow, some of you all are kind of rough on people. All of this hoop-de-la over the Parti colored Yorkies, makes me wonder if people gave away or got rid of their babies when red-headed and blonde-headed babies started showing up.

On other Internet sites, I read that, early on, these multi-colored Yorkies were either destroyed or given away with no papers "out the back door," by breeders who did not want it known that these pups came out of their champions or breeding stock.

The Partis are beautiful, just different in appearance. Paris is a good example. I would think that many here would be more concerned about the inbreeding that undoubtedly goes on in an effort to produce the perfect dog. Some here would do well to go back to high school biology for a review in genetics.
