Was Mikki a waif like Teddy? We used to call him "Bag 'o bones," lol. He was a skinny puppy and filled out much later than Max. Now he has muscles and can take on Max in tug-o-war.

She was not skinny skinny. But needed just a little more weight. She was loved by the previous owner, just didn't have time to take care of her. Her hair was a mess and when I picked her up she had matted poop in her hair. And stinky stinky!! The lady loved her but the boyfriend didn't. Hmmmmmm, sounds like a thread I remember posting in recently. May need to add in the Mikki story. Mikki was terrified of men. But not my DH. She loves him. She just went on her first car ride with DH to the store! She will be a happy girl now. Just talked with Sherry about getting her a dress that says Daddy's girl on it. She has come a long long way and seems to be a much happier furbaby.

Was Teddy a rescue? Poor little baby. He is such a handsome thing now. You have been a very very good momma to him. Rosie said he is HOT! She can't imagine him being anything other than her handsome date!

I'm so glad Mikki is in your loving care now, and that she has become daddy's little girl.

Woohoo, Teddy is blushing hearing Rosie's compliment. Teddy is Max's full brother from a different litter. Their breeder held onto Teddy and decided to let him go at 7 months. Between neutering and snow storms that kept us from traveling, he was 8 months old before we were able to pick him up. He is very fine boned like his sire. Max is my Tonka truck.

I remember the day you saw her at the gas station and were debating on wether or not you should take her. You posted pictures of her back then. She sure has come a long way...she is absolutely adorable now. It is amazing what love can do

Awww, you remembered my baby's story. Yes, I was so not sure what to do. I am so glad I got her. I was just holding her a few minutes ago. She was snuggled up to me like a baby. I think she is glad I got her too. Thank you as I think she is adorable. But I know I am biased. I think it is amazing how love changes them.

Beautifully put and so true! Mikki has changed so much that I had forgotten that she wasn't always with you. I remember her story now.

I remember the day you posted about Mikki and the big debate on whether to surprise your DH or wait until he gave you the ok... we were all on pins and needles waiting to see if you got her Mikki doesn't even look like the same little girl, it is simply amazing what love and good care does to bring these little beauties out.
