A dog meetup buddy's hubby is a fireman who had an off-duty truck for the night, so they stopped by our house and gave the neighborhood kids -- and the dogs -- a thrill.

It was pretty fun. They had a slide set up on back for kids and Santa to slide down.

Jillie had no problem with Santa, though she's dwarfed by his black gloves. The only problem was her harness got caught in his beard!

LOL, her harness getting stuck in Santa's beard.

When I lived in Chicagoland, Santa came around on the firetruck, but he didn't have that cool slide going for him.

That is the coolest thing I have ever seen. I bet the neighborhood kids (young and old

) had a blast. Heck I would have fun sliding down that slide

The volunteer fire company here does Santa every year! With the sirens screaming and lights flashing.... my dogs bark constantly until they're out of ear shot! I love seeing the expressions on the little kids faces though!

That's so cute! We saw Santa last week on the fire truck -- one of my fave childhood memories was seeing Santa come down the street!! Jillie looks adorable.

I'd never heard of that being done, but it was a blast! It was pretty hilarious. The driver was unsure of directions, so I guided him in in my VW Beetle. He had his lights flashing, so people were pulling over and letting us pass. They probably thought I was a lunatic for not pulling over.

Needless to say, the neighborhood thinks I'm a hero for bringing Santa on Christmas Eve!

That must have been a sight, a VW Beetle leading a firetruck! Too bad you couldn't have planned ahead and decorated your car.
