Introducing Nano the odd-ball "yorkie" 4 Attachment(s) Hi! I've been lurker on here for a while and I'm quite shy to post anything. Heh. I absolutely love these forums, reading all the stories and advice made Nano's puppy stages a lot less painful. :p Nano is a little over 2 years old now, and this has never bothered me before, but recently I've noticed more and more people commenting on the colour and texture of his fur (very soft and fluffy), and thus questioning his "purebred-ness". I got him from a very nice local breeder who had both his parents on site (and some aunts and uncles :rolleyes:). His brothers and sisters from the same litter all looked like the standard yorkie pup (black and brown) and he was the only pure brown one (and therefore also the last to go!) I thought he was adorable and never questioned his uniqueness. I attached some recent and puppy pictures (first one is @ 3 months, second and third are most recent, and last one is @ 6 months). What do you all think? Regardless of what he is, I still love him to bits!! |

I love that stern look in the first pic. He is a cutie for sure! My baby boy is around the same age and has similar hair. He's a soft coated yorkie, which is off standard, but they make great pets. Don't let other people's comments bother you. He's a cutie, and I bet he's a little love bug. Enjoy him! |

Thanks! 2 Attachment(s) Thanks everyone for all the encouragement and lovely words! I try not to let other people's comments bother me, mostly they just think he still looks like a puppy! I guess I just wanted a better piece of mind. :rolleyes: I will definitely try to get out of my box and post more! Yes, Nano has quite the baby face, and he knows it! I can't stay mad at him for very long when he gets into trouble. :p He becomes quite the little fuzzball when his hair starts to grow out. I attached more pictures that didn't quite make the first cut (I have so many!!), but you can see how scruffy he looks. Anyway, he's my special little blonde yorkie and I love him no matter what! |
Oh, what a sweetie! I understand where you're coming from. I've read on the Biewer Fancier forums that someone came after a person telling them that their Biewer was a 'splicer' and such, and I think it made them kind of paranoid about their dog's lines and whatnot. I think some people get waaay too wrapped up in the politics of the breeds at times. I understand that they want to keep the lines 'pure', but if you have a dog and someone starts harassing you because it may not be up to their standards, I think that's wrong. Besides, I believe I've seen someone on these boards with a morkie before without anyone being mean about it, so don't feel shy because you're not sure if he is or isn't a purebred Yorkshire Terrier. I know I'm not judging! He's a doll baby, no matter what he is or isn't! |
