How do you get Joey's tail to look like that? Does he have a long tail? I really like it! I'm wondering because if Joey's tail is cropped, then I can get my babie's to look like that! :D Joey is a handsome man!

Joey's tail is cropped, but his breeder leaves them a little longer then some. We grew the hair out on the tail, but another factor is his tail was broken during whelping and this may be why he has a different type of look. His vet said he could fix it, but he'd have to break it to fix it and that seemed like it would hurt Joey, he added that the tail doesn't hurt him as is, it just wouldn't work in the show ring. We decided not fix it, sometimes imperfection can be perfect!

I know, that's why I love the cut, I'm a 60's fan, and his breeder cuts the feet so perfectly, they look like little suede boots.

The first picture is of Tibbe at 9 mos. old the day I got him 5-30-08 and had no supplies whatsoever other than that old crate and the second is on his 3rd Birthday on 8-30-10.

In Joey's puppy picture, he looks like his name would be "JOEY" Fits him perfect.

In the picture of Joey at 4, How do you tell the groomer to cut his face hair.? I always tell my groomer to do that cut, and she always will cut the beard to short or cut the top of his snout to short.. I don't know its hard to explain. But it frustrates me

I think the name suits him, it reminds me of little boy who thinks he's so tough! Joey's breeder is the person who grooms him. She's the one the came up with the cut, I'd seen it on some of her other dogs. I know what you mean, some groomers will just cut the whole thing too short. I think the best way is to take several pictures of cuts you like, and show your groomer the picture.

Lol ya thats what i do.. sometimes she does it the other its too short..I honestly think im going to do it my self!

I think you can get pretty good doing it yourself, and at least if you make a mistake, it didn't cost you anything!

I loved looking at all these pics! It's so interesting to see the progression. You a get a new pup & can't imagine what it will look like as an adult. But then, looking through all your pics, you see the adult and see where their features, hair texture & hair colour came from (if that makes sense...lol) To me...they just start out as cute lil puppies and get even cuter :D

:D I think I would. When his face hair grows out, I will cut it. Dh tells me I do a good job, so I might just start!!

Yorkies pretty much all always lighten up as they get older so you can look forward to that. :thumbup: They usually always lose the darkness on their head.

1. Lily at about 3-4 months

2. Watching football about a year old

3. At Christmas time

I love these threads!! It's so amazing the transformation they go through. And just when you think you might know how they will turn out they still surprise you, lol.


I have a few to share.


First picture is Destiny at 10 weeks old.
Second picture is Destiny now, she will be 5 years old at the end of this month.

Third picture is Destiny's daughter Harmony at 11 weeks old.
Fourth picture is Harmony now, she is 3 years old.
