The initial shock of having 2 dogs still has not worn off. And, I hope the joy in my heart from having these 2 incredible pets never wears off. There's nothing better than sweet, loving puppy kisses in the morning and a high-five from Cooper in the evenings because he so loves his baby brother. I swear I can hear "thanks mom. I love Max". And so do we.

Pictures:

1. Max sittin' pretty
2. Max staring at me. I think he's ready to eat, yet again.
3. Cooper being the oh so obnoxious big brother. You can see he has 2 bully sticks in his mouth. 1 I gave to him, and 1 I gave to Max. Of course he now has them both & is teasing his baby brother.
4. The boys sleeping together. This looks like Max's favorite moment ever! Cooper is tolerating it, but Max is thoroughly enjoying!

That pretty much sums up Cooper's personality. I swear he does a happy dance in Max's face when he steals Max's things.

Ohhhh, that picture of the two of them sleeping together is just so precious. They are definitely brothers now. I'm so happy to 'hear' the happiness back in you:)

Thank you. It's been a rough road, but I couldn't be happier right now.

Cooper doesn't appear so happy in that photo, but he's such a good boy!

Fantastic pictures! Love Max's nose shot, and the picture of your boys on the couch is so sweet! Max in his bed -- what a cutie.

Thank you Maximo! I really need a new camera though. There are so many great action shots with the 2 of them that I just can't capture fast enough.

I think that's the way all siblings are together. I love your stories of Cooper and his little brother, and your photos of them really made me smile. Cooper and Max are both so precious, and it thrills me to read about the joy you are feeling because of having them in your life. Even the title of your post warmed my heart.

Does my heart good to hear (and see) that everyone is happy! And no, the feeling doesn't wear off, it gets stronger! Pics are all great! :D

I just love your pictures of your two boys. Cooper with the two bully sticks is so funny and the two sleeping on the couch together is priceless.

Love the pictures of your boys. Hearing about Cooper's shenannigans makes me laugh. Love the pic with Max (the head shot with his nose out front), I love kissing their noses!!

Just wait until Piper gets bigger. There coloring is totally different but the hair and faces are so similar.

Those are great, both adorable as can be! Love the close up of Max & the bully stick photo, hilarious!

We have a leather couch very similar to yours with the nailheads, but ours is dark brown, we love it!

I was going to ask what kind of camera you used because your photographs are gorgeous. Surprised it isn't fast enough to capture action. A good camera is on my list of needs.

It's a Sony Cybershot and it's awful. The pictures are somewhat clear on stills, but once you hit the snap button, you literally have to wait about 2 seconds for it to take a photo.

With a point and shoot camera, there is always shutter lag. To minimize it, you can try prefocusing on what you want to take a picture of. If they are doing something cute, just press the shutter button half way. Your camera will try to gain focus, and when the right minute comes along, take the picture. It won't work for action shots, and shutter lag is probably the most frustrating thing about point and shoot cameras. They're great because of their size because you can have it with you at all times if you want, but they're not great at capturing action shots. They really are too difficult to use with animals and kids because they're always moving around so much. You can just try taking more than you need and hope that some will turn out right. I still use my camera more like a film camera, where I plan out each shot. I couldn't do that with my babies, so I tried to anticipate their action. I use a D-SLR almost exclusively, but I still think the portability of a point and shoot is really appealing also.

For some really great inspiration, this is a thread of dog photos from the only other forum that I read. It's the Nikon section of a photography forum fredmiranda.com and people posted pictures that they took of dogs. They are very serious amateurs and some professionals, and they are amazing photos. If you love seeing pictures of dogs, you will enjoy this, and it might give you ideas for pictures of your little ones. The other one is just a link of photography tips from Nikon about how to get your dogs or cats to sit still and look at you when you are taking the pictures. I love the candids that you are getting of them; it shows their personality and they are so adorable, but I definitely understand the frustration of getting so many back of the head pictures.
