How does the rest of him look? For the first time he squirmed and was fidgety. I'm happy with his body, I can see his skinny physique. :p
His beard I'm not to sure of.

I think he looks great!

A tip...shave his ears 1/4 way down, trim along the edges with scissors and yes this is still done with floppy ears. Also you can keep bangs but still allow the hair along the bridge of his nose to grow out. Eventually it will lay down and won't be in his eyes...it's so much simpler to keep neat than cutting/shaving that area.

I'm letting the hair along the bridge of his nose grow out, I'm tired of constantly cutting it. That's why he looks so messy. I'm learning as I go, so I don't know how to shave the tips of his ears. I don't know where to even start. :confused:

You'll be really glad you let that nose hair grow.

How did you do the body? Clippers I assume? Use the clippers on his ears too. Hold his ear against your fingers on one hand(so you have something to press against)...holding the clippers in the other..start about 1/4 down from the top...and shave upwards to the end. So not quite the middle of the ear...and shave toward the top...in a straight motion. A mustache trimmer works well for this. You can also use it to shave paw pads. Walgreens has them for around 20 bucks....and they are battery operated.

It's hard to describe but easily done...and I bet there's a video on youtube.

I groom all of mine too....groomer fear was my inspiration. I just cut three of mine down in the cut like Nancy's Joey has.

Me too. I took Kaji once to a groomer for his nails. I was able to stay and Kaji panicked! saw the whole thing. When I do his nails, he'll fidget, but it's not as bad. Oh and both of my parents are so mad at me. They love Kaji's hair, and I like it short. I win because he's my baby not theirs. ;)

After one of mine received a haircut that I explicitly...with pictures, notes, and verbally told her NOT to do....and she did anyway....I decided I'd rather not pay to be ticked off. Plus two are shown and there was no way I could take a chance some groomer would screw up their hair too.

I don't have a picture handy of my Reese...he has flopped ears..I'll try to get one for you. It's just a much neater appearance.

I love a dog in coat...but adore not having to care for it too.

I already promised my mom I would let Kaji's hair grow out after the summer. She saw a pic of him with long hair and I agreed. I keep hearing cottony coats are harder to care for. I guess we'll see!

YUP! He is a lot lighter in his face now too. He's not going to look the same even if I let his hair grow. :p

Wow in that last pic, the face looks like Kaji, but the body is in dire need of some frizz-ease! LOL! btw the name Kaji suits him much better than Bear. :)

Oh, are you gonna grow out all of his hair or just the face?

All of it. He's going to look so weird! That's why I'll need to start buying bows. ;)

Oh, and that was still his puppy hair. Is puppy hair frizzy?

I'm so glad I got on tonight. I have a yorkie, (of course!) and both of my daughters have her sisters. I was wanting to start grooming them mainly because of the cost of having 3 dogs groomed. Could anyone tell me where to start looking for a video or pictures on how to cut their hair? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome! I'm no help. I just grabbed some clippers and started cutting some hair. Check youtube, maybe there's something useful there.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. In the meantime, what size/gauge clipper blade did you use? I don't want their hair to be as short as most schnausers, but I don't want the long coat that some yorkies have either. Someone suggested a 10, but I'm not sure how short that will get the hair.:confused:

You're speaking a strange language. :p You mean that attachment thingy? I used a 3 on Kaji's body, and a 2 on his tummy. 10 would be pretty long, you'll be able to run your fingers through their coat.
