wearing a collar my Yorkie (Brodie) hates his collar does anyone have any suggestions? He makes such a fuss and cries over it and I give in and take it off. He is an inside dog he uses pee pads but I still think he should wear a collar for ID purposes.:animal36 |

Hello, The only time I use a collar is when I take Pebbles, my baby out in the car. She never wears a collar in the house. I know I wouldn't want a hard collar around my neck 24/7. I also like to use a harness when we do go for walks. Don't like anything around a little dogs neck. I also have 2 German Shepherds, and I don't use collars on them unless they go out in the public. |

Lucy was really bothered by her collar at first, too. I would put it on her for a while and then take it off.... and then on and off... and she is totally used to it now. Both my Yorkies are 100% inside dogs, but I always keep collars on them. They have ID god forbid they ever ran out and I also just think they look cute :) If you keep it on him I am SURE he will eventually get used to.... just like clothes or bows or other things we like to dress our babies up with! |
BTW- Susan Lanci makes hand-made really really really SOFT and light weight collars. THey are a little bit pricey, but I just ordered one for Lucy and it is soooo nice! Very cute and amazing quality. They sell them at some boutiques I have been to, but I bought mine on Sassypup.com. You can also check ebay. That may be a good route to try because it literally weighs nothing. |
