My Winning Halloween Dream Team!
 

Hubby & I took the trio to PetSmart's Howl-O-Ween costume party tonight. I had in mind just to go as an outing with the fur kids to see all the other dogs in costume and get the free goodie bags they give out. Since I really didn't buy any new costumes for them this year, I decided to dress them in clothes they already had. Toby had a Quarter "Bark" football jersey he got last year for his birthday, and last month at one of my visits to Walmart I saw they had a referee shirt and a cheer captain dress so I picked them up for Lucky and Halle. So, not really costumes, but I thought what the heck; close enough. I put curly ribbons in Halles' top-knot as her "pom-poms", tied a small stuffed football toy on a string around Toby's neck & also padded his shoulders :p, and I just happened to have a whistle for Lucky the "ref" to where around his neck.
Well lo and behold, they were a hit and took 1st Place in the "costume" contest! There were quite a few cute little dogs in costume, but I think what really clinched our win was the "team" effort.

Adorable! We had lots of the pumpkins at ours, too.

We had so many angel/devil dogs at ours. We did not have a good experience at ours tonight.

Aww, I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience. I did see one devil dog and a couple of angels, but there was quite a pumpkin patch going on there for sure.:D

We're going to see if we can continue our winning streak at Petco's howl-o-ween on Saturday!

Thanks everybody for you comments. I had no idea they would win; like I said, I had planned on just throwing on those "clothes" then at the last minute added the idea of the whistle, football, and shoulder pad "props". I think that, along with the team theme, and the fact that they're just plain cute :p got us the win. First place prize was a $20 gift card to PetSmart.

That is a great idea you had~we have our Halloween contest this weekend at Farm & Home...I haven't decided yet if we are going to dress Tootsie up or just go and watch!!! I think homemade~simple costumes are the best!!!

They are adorable!!! You had a great and winning idea. You deserved to win for sure!

I wanted to go to ours this year but there is a doggie 'virus' going around here and Daisy and Teddy have already been sick with it. Everyone I know has had sick babies already so I didn't want to take them around other doggies this year. :-( Maybe next year.
