Hi guys. :-) This is the first time I have posted a picture on this forum. I hope that I am doing it correctly. This is Sara Jane. She is almost 8 years old and a very good girl. :-)

Thank you guys. :-) I was just trying out my new Nikon D60 that we bought from Costco. I discovered that if I got her attention and then said "beep beep" in a high voice that she would perk up her ears. Always before she was worried when she knew I was taking a picture.

Now I am working on putting a picture of her under my name in the forum. Any hints about that?

Yes, you need to add a picture under your name - it's called an avitar. Send a PM to Nancy1999 (she's our resident genius) and she will help you set one up.

That's a wonderful picture, and I'm sure you'll get lots of use out of you new Nikon, Sara Jane is a beautiful model. And Nancy 1999, I appreciate any help you can give me on setting up my avatar. Would you mind telling me how you make the avatar that includes several pictures? I reduced the size of that one picture of Sara Jane and I will post it as the avatar. But I would be interested in doing one with several pictures. Do you find it difficult? Do you have a special program to do that? Curious. :)

Yeah, I'm a do it yourselfer too. I use Paint shop pro, they have an animation program that comes with it, but Photoscape make a great free program and does many of the same things that the PSP program does. Here's a thread I wrote on using the Photoscape program and a link to a free upload. Making the avatar out of several pictures is easy the program does it automatically, and turns it into a gif file. What usually takes time is editing pictures, putting on frames and names, but for a simple avatar with several pictures you can do it in a minute. You just have to not exceed the Yorkietalk limits on file size. For a regular member that would be a physical size of no larger than 75 pixels, and no more than 19 kb which is about 4 pictures. Thank you! :) I will take a look at it and give it a try. I happen to have Paint Shop Pro XI. I haven't done much with it though. If I can figure it out in there, I will use that. Otherwise, I will attempt to use the program that you gave me the link to. Thank you very much. But, if, perchance, I can not accomplish the deed, I may be back begging for your help! :)

Thank you. :) She's a sweet little girl. She is the first Yorkie we have ever had. We find her to be very different from any of the other dogs we have had. We love Yorkies! (Well, we loved our other dogs too, but she is truely special.)

There's a learning curve with everything, it took me forever to learn PSP, but I didn't read anything, it was all hit and miss. If you have PSP, it's worth it to learn how to use it, you can do just about anything in editing. I think the photoscape program is pretty user friendly, and if you click on the help feature, it takes you to the website where it shows you visually how to do lots of different things.

Thank you. I haven't used PSP very much. Last night I used it to reduce some photos for the avatar. I couldn't find any mention of animation other than something to put on the desk top.So far it is a confusing program for me. I have had it for about a year and every time I try to use it I don't find it very easy. I just need to spend more time with it I guess. Anyway.. I downloaded the other program you suggested and will give it a whirl today. :)

Nancy gave me tips when I was setting up my animated avitar. I used the free Photoscape program and had it done in no time - & I know NOTHING about this kind of thing. When you open Photoscape, go to the AniGif button of the circle. In the new box that comes up, find where your pics are located in the upper left section, select on, drag an drop it where it says. The right side of the box has features to size the photos, set the time to elapse between pictures, etc. Save as an avi file, upload to Yt and you're done! :)

I don't know if I ever thanked you, Nancy. No way in the world could I have figured it out on my own!

Oh I didn't realize you had the program, I would definitely use that. You do all editing it PSP, but the go to "file" and you will see the words, "other Jasc products" click on this, and it will say "launch animation shop". I have both programs open at the same time and I edit the picture in PSP, and just paste it in animation shop. You can also use animation shops "wizard" where you just select the pictures to use to make the animation, and it will make it for you. Set the time for each slide, and the size of the animation, and you are all set.
