I agree, my past yorkies had longer tails than a lot that I have seen, they came from show breeders and I believe they seem to know the correct way to dock them, growing it out like you did makes it look beautiful.

I love that cut so much.when it ever decides to get warm I may have Mickey cut that way. Is there a name for that style of cut

I think someone said that it's called a modified Shauzer, basically the body is shaved and the legs are left long. Lol, surprised your groomer doesn't know the "Joey"! Probably the best idea is to take a picture, when it comes to grooming, pictures are worth a million words! It's actually even good when it's cooler because clothes are easy to wear and you can still see the longer legs.
