i still don't understand how you made the bed from cardboard box? i mean, which part of it is cardboard?:confused:it looks so nice!
i did show my fiance the pictures, and he really liked them and was afraid that i would get the idea to imitate what you've done. lol.
nope, not even possible. so i am not even going to try...:p

I found the first picture of a boy's twin bed, and I loved the shape, and printed out a pattern to cut the bed. I picked up three boxes from the dollar store; they were long rather flat boxes. The first I used to hold the pillow that was used for a mattress. I cut the corners of the box, and folded it over to get an "edge". Using my favorite "tools" of hot glue, and duct tape, I glued the edges in place; This step wasn't necessary because none of the pictures show the edge of the bed anyway. I cut the headboard and footboard from the other boxes, I just use a knife to do this, and they look really choppy, but here where I thought hubby would take pity on me, and make a real bed. The headboard and footboard are glued to the frame, and the whole thing sets on small legs under the frame, because obviously, the headboard and footboard weren't strong enough to hold Joey's weight. The little carved appliqué on the footboard was just hot glue. I painted the bed first a yellow/gold color, let that dry and painted over that with a darker brown, and rubbed that off with steal wool, repeating the brown step a couple of times, making it look a little more like wood. The little shelf above the bed was just made out of a scrap of trim with thumbtacks hot glued to the back to stick into the wall.

Remember my kids are grown, I'm unemployed, and I have no grandchildren. I do have time, at least sometimes. :D

Ohmegosh, Nancy! How adorable! I love how he has his own room. Joey's bed actually looks nicer than mine. Haha.

I vote for #3. I love his expression in it. I'm sure everyone will love whatever you select, though.

I couldn't make a decision, all of them are just to precious.
Of course, I do like the tongue pic.
What a sweetheart you have.

Im a slacker!

I feel like such a slacker now. I was almost ashamed to post the pic of my photoshop patch job after seeing joey's pic! There is always "next year" but this is going to be a pretty hard act to follow!!!!! :D

This is by far the cutest picture I have ever seen! You are SO talented! This is absolutely amazing! I am at a loss for words how creative you are! I, too, like photo number 7! :D

Those are the cutest picture I have ever seen. You really are good at that. You could do that professionally. My favorite is the first one.:p:p:p:p

I just remembered that I never commented on your pics and really wanted to!! I am amazed at your creativity! No matter which picture you would have chosen, it would have been adorable. Have you ever thought about doing a children's story book about Joey? Add your prop making skills and the cutest little Yorkie around...how could you go wrong?

Oh, thanks so much, a children's story book, no I sure hadn't thought of that, hmm, something to ponder. :D

Well, I thought your little spider costume was the cutest and most creative thing I have seen on here. However, you just out did yourself. These pics are simply adorable and the fact that you made the little bedroom scene yourself makes it even better.

:bravo:

I like 3 and 7 the best.

onlyaglimmer 12-21-2008 05:57 PM

that is just so stinkin' CUTE!! Now I'm in the mood to take some pictures like that of buster LOL

OMGosh! Those are the cutest pictures and I can see one as a calendar page! Your creations are unbelievable...and you did the bed out of a cardboard box? Amazing! Looking at all those pictures sure put a smile on my face. I love the first one where he's sleeping...too precious. Of the others, and I guess it is nice to see his eyes, I'd pick the 7th one! He's adorable, and so are all your props for this picture. Looks like I better pack up Maddie and Libby and come to Arizona to get their pictures taken! You are amazing!

yorkiesincommon 12-06-2010 09:59 AM

I love #1 because he looks asleep and absolutely adorable, #3 is clear and great too and #7 is sharp and also excellent. I don't know how you can choose just 1. How about 2 cards! 1 and 7 or can you put a pic inside and the other outside? 1 is the most adorable to me and I am not sure why. It is as though you have opened the door to a bedroom to view your sleeping baby. I am no help at all. You are extremely creative and should consider photography of small dogs in your home or such. If you had a good camera, you could just put the pics on flash drives or email them and they can do what they please with them. That little room looks just like what you would imaging his bedroom would look like. I tip my hat to your creativity! With Warm Regards and a wish of a very Merry Christmas, Mary

Number 1 or 3 or 7 is my favorite. And you did such an amazing job with the props. I love it . These are the cutest yorkie pictures I have ever seen:) How sweet:)

deanfam5 12-06-2010 04:10 PM

Joey looks so much like my yorkie Bailey. How old is he? Oh how sweet:)

Lol, I had to tell so many people that "no he doesn't have his own bedroom", and here you are starting up the rumor again.

Ladymom 12-06-2010 04:29 PM

So glad this thread got bumped, though. What a treat to see those pictures again!

Me too! So glad this thread was bumped because I was going to ask Nancy about the pics in her super-adorable avatar. Best pictures ever! I thought I loved your barking spider and Joey TV, but these trump all.

You can tell us about Joey's bedroom. Max and Teddy have one. It used to be mine. :p
