It was just way too much for me to handle anymore and yesterday I took it all off. Zada was the one who was hopping and running and felt like a new doggie. I bet there was at least a pound of hair that came off of her and a pound off Azrael. Poor Zada couldn't even sniff the ground as she walked without tripping on her beard. I can't believe how easy it is to brush them out now. Razael still has her long hair but it's never been a problem to take care of since it's much thinner than the others. Thought I share the pictures since my son wanted me to take some to send him. While he was here over Thanksgiving he suggested I give them hair cuts. Guess because I did spend more time brushing them than necessary, but with long hair you have to in order to keep them from getting matts.

Both of your girls look great with their new cuts. About a month ago I had my Jewels who has always had long hair cut down also. I was just tired of dealing with all that hair. I also think they look cuter with clothes on with the shorter cuts

Awe, so cute! how did you cut it? using just clipper? or a shaver? and they sit still for you? :teeth: My maddie would wiggle, cry and scratch me until i give up! :mad:

LOOOOVVVEE It Donna! They remind me of Lay's coat- nice and curly and soft! They look WONDERFUL!

They look beautiful! I was almost afraid to look at the new photos since I loved their long hair, but they look great! I'm sure they loved all of the brushing time they spent with you, but now there's more time to play. :)

Thank you. It's really easy but time consuming when it's that long as with Zada, and VERY, VERY thick as with Azrael. I told my husband to look in the trash and let me know how many dogs are in there hehe!!

I didn't think about that, but your right........the clothes will look so much better. I'm still waiting for their Christmas sweaters to have their portrait made in.

I always thought that Layla and Azrael could pass as twins. They are even the same size. Do you cut Layla's hair?

Your Gizmo and my Azrael also look alike as well. You were afraid to look and I was sweating bullets "before" I cut Zada down. Azrael's want' all grown out yet, but boy she looked like she weighed 20 pounds. :(

Well thank you. I named Zada, my youngest son named Azrael, so since we had the z names going I thought I'd keep the theme and I named the baby Razael. The exact letters that's in Azrael's name. :p

you are very welcome, they really look great, i use groom dogs years ago, but never had a yorkie in the year i did that, looks like a whole new ballgame,, lol

After their cut and bath I thought they (especially Zada) were unusually spirited and was probably just due to the bath, but even last evening and today they are just jumping around and more playful. I think I'll keep the puppy cut. ;)

I used the dog clipper and a #3 blade. Is it the noise she doesn't like?

To tell you the truth, this is the first time I have attempted the puppy cut on the girls. I find that you have to hold the clipper up some and don't touch the skin if you don't want it any shorter and you cut in the direction the hair grows, like neck to tail. It was very interesting. :p

Thank you! I always liked how neat and trim your boys are. This is SO much easier to take care of. Before, it took forever to get them dry after a bath, now it's a few rubs with the towel and a couple minutes with the hair dryer. So far no mats either, and they wore their pj's last night. Getting chilly lately huh. How is it in SLO?
