So sorry this happened to you! (But I think your furbaby is adorable either way!) There are so many horror stories about bad groomings out there! For this reason I'm scared to get Scooter groomed! I think I'm going to find a cute puppy cut here on YT, print off the picture and bring it in. I might even tell them that if I hate it, I will not pay for it! Maybe then they'll look closely at the picture and do what I want! |
sorry you are upset about the haircut! but i think its adorable...especially around the face...hehe... |
Awww, I think he looks darling!! HOWEVER, I recently had a very similar thing happen to us, and I even took in a picture. I was devestated. Oh well, it's been a few weeks and is really starting to grow now. I have since decided to groom at home and am very much enjoying it. I used the videos by Marcerella02 in the grooming sections to help me get started. About the hair around his eyes, yes, it's going to be an absolute pain to keep tamed while it's growing out, but it will be ok and you'll get through it. Just make sure you wet and comb it down (when it starts to grow out) every AM and PM. Good luck!!!!!!! He is such a cutie! |
I know exactly how you feel as it just happened to us too! I have a theory about these groomers. You explain to the groomer as you are about to leave your baby with them just what kind of cut you are wanting...hours later the groomer probably finally gets to your baby and has totally forgotten the discussion and proceeds with what she/he thinks is the cut best at the time. I think they have too many dogs to cut and totally forget the instruction. Your baby looks darling in his new cut...but I know, you miss the "old" look. |
He looks handsome to me...it will will grow back quicker than you think..it's just the after shock of after seeing him in his new cut..he is adorable! |

I laughed so hard for a few hours at how funny he looked. But everyone I've showed the pics to says he looks great for my first time... Mom and dad even agree that he looks sooo cute! I know the shock of expecting something totally different when seeing your baby. I know it's hard to deal with. But to be honest, hair isn't that important in the grande scheme of things.. As long as he loves you and you love him and you both are as healthy and happy as you can be... That's all that matters. Even if you had a bad haircut, you may feel bad about it but its not what's important in life. Being happy is important. Who cares about hair or nails or matching the purse with the shoes. Yes it may be nice to be able to do that, but it's just material. Love is forever. HUGS Brittany and Bentley:aimeeyork |

I think he looks fine. Everytime I think I have the courage to take Bernie to a groomer for a trim I read a horror story and get scared. I think I'll just leave him long, cause I'm really hard to please too! It's just hair, it will be back like you like it before you know it. |
Thanks everyone for being so supportive. I am slowly coming out of Darwin's post-groom shock. His big boy cut is growing on me a little bit more each time I look at him. BUT - I still do wish he had his yorkie puppy hairdo, and not a face cut like a schnauzer. The nice thing is he smells so nice, I don't think he smells this nice after I bathe him at home for so long - does anyone know what the groomers use to make the fresh scent last? Is it powder? He's also been itching and biting at his bum a lot since the groomer's....I find that very strange. |
.....he is adorable in all the pictures!!!! My husband keeps suggesting we cut my baby's hair and I keep telling him No Way....(at least not yet) I think that taking a picture next time is a great suggestion. The one thing about hair is....It will grow back. :) |
oh my gosh i think he looks adorable with his new cut!!! i know its not what you wanted but wow what a cutie:) |
I think he looks very cute :D i might feel the same way later as my 2 have a grooming App. today. I like my groomer but she is not the greatest grooming yorkies ;) |
i took my little girl, Bopsey, in at 3 months of age for her "Puppy package" or whatever they call it so the puppy gets used to grooming, and the groomer cut the hair between her eyes that would go in a top knot. never the less, little Bopsey is now over 9 months old and its still not long enugh to put in her top knot. the hair just hangs in her eyes:( |
Your little guy is adorable. Don't worry. Their hair grows pretty fast and will come back soon. It is good to have the grooming experience while he is young. I started taking Daisy in for baths and trims at an early age and she is so good now. We get to the groomer's and she runs in wagging her tail an jumps into the groomer's arms! So sorry they did not style it the way you wanted. That is very frustrating. Your pup is still very very cute! |
Darwin looks absolutely PRECIOUS!! Relax...his hair will grow back just fine, perhaps even better, a good trim never hurts, hehe. My girlie is 9mos and from the beginning, I decided to groom her myself. I'm not fond of the treatment from groomers, like an assembly line or something. Believe me, learning to do it is by trial and error for me, but getting better at it. It will grow out really fast, you will be so surprised. :) |
