We back from vacation - 11 days days on the water! We had a wonderful time and Hot Rod did amazingly well. I am so proud of him, he did so well on the boat and in the water. He even jumped in on his own 3 times! We have been doing this trip for 12 years with as many as 25 other boats. It is such a good time!

Hot Rod certainly looks like he was born to be on the water.
He looks so comfortable sitting there.

OMGoodness he looks like he had a blast! I wish there were somewhere local where I could take my furbutts swimming. We're not putting up our pool until next summer.

OMG I just love your pictures...your Hot Rod and your boat! That must be such a joy to have him totally involved in your family activities. He's toooooo cute!

I looked at your pictures and posted without reading what you had to say. Boy your post just took me way back in my life... Thinking about my past life on the water. I lived the water life as a child...taking vacations in the boat...cruising to nearby islands...down to Florida...staying on the boat...in motels on the waters edge, etc. It's the best life there is. When I die, I want to come back as your dog! Enjoy life sweetie.

Thanks, he has definitely gotten very comfortable with being in the water. We put him in with just dunking him, a lot, to cool him off and he seemed to realize that it felt good and that helped with him not being so afraid to go in. We had a great time!

We've been slowly getting him used to the water with weekend trips. We were worried about this big trip but he did so well. I would get a life jacket and a child's pool and start putting it on so they can get comfortable with it on...Hot Rod was not a happy camper when we first starting putting it on him. We started back in Feb. Good luck. I would love to have a pool!:)

We are so glad that he has gotten used to the boat and water as we spend quite a bit of time on it. We were unsure of how he was going to do. The very first weekend was a little hard but he definitely has gotten his sea legs. The rocking motion doesn't even phase him at all!:)

It's nice traveling with your Yorkie isn't it??? I love to travel with Izzy.:D

I would love to cruz the islands! So far I've only boated on the Chesapeake Bay (which is great!) and made one trip from NJ. I have a lot of friends that take their boat to Florida in the winter and boat there. Wish we could but gotta work to pay for the fuel. My hubby grew up boating and he has definitely passed his passion for it to me, it is wonderful! sounds like you have a lot of good, good memories about the water. :)

My Hot Rod you are one lucky dog! And I might say you look really good in the Captain seat. I'm sure you ruled the whole vacation. Its good to see you had so much fun.

I love the pictures!!! Looks like you all had a blast,nice weather and what a cute captain you have. LOL. Aiden just started going in the pool with me on his own float. He really has grown to love the water. I ordered a new laptop and it came and did'nt work...I promise I'll post pics soon. :aimeeyork

Hot Rod was definitely worn out after a day of swimming and attention.:) We've had cats prior and were not able to have them on the boat so this is a first experience for us to be able to have our baby with us, it was pretty cool.:)
