Hot Rod has taken to the water really well! I am so proud of him! He jumped off the raft himself and started swimming all by instinct. This was his 3rd time on the boat and the second time we've had him in the water. The first time he started paddling instinctively also.

Ever since I started this site, your dog has the cutest boy face ever!!!! I love his coloring,and now those pics are sooo cute. What a sporty little man. He's gotta be a heart breaker!!!:D

Thank You. I just love him so much and everyone who sees him just falls in love with him. He is a heartbreaker and he has the sweetest temperment.:)

Thanks, we were hoping that he would like the water and boat as we spend just about every weekend on the water come summer. :)

:) I just love the pic where he is all prettied up.. he is smiling there and looks like he did have a fantastic time in the water.. he is a handsome boy for sure.. a real heart breaker.

Sooooo cute. It looks like he's on a boat cushion. We've put pookie in the pool on a boogie board and pulled him around on it. I think that it's good for them to know about the water, and what to do. Good job!

Thanks...he didn't even really fuss with his bow, that's how I know he was tired. lol!:)

They now have the spring floats that you lie in the net in kids sizes. I am going to try one of those for him. When he's tired, he can rest on the side of it. But this way he won't get away.

I got it from a small pet store but they have it at Petco; it is a tiny size-Hot Rod is just under 3 1/2 lbs. I also have a yellow one that has mesh on the bottom and zips on top. He managed to squirm out of that one on the floor. So we will only use that one in a pool. Here is a pic of that one. I like it because it keeps his head up. They have it at Petco also. Hope you can find it.

Wow! What a brave boy!! :D I love the pictures...especially the 'prettied up' pic where he is smiling! I started a thread today too about my girls getting into the pool and NOT liking it.:( Maybe if I keep trying! Hot Rod will be water skiing soon!! :p

It might have helped that it was so stinkin' HOT out! It was like 94 degrees or something like that. Just keep trying, I am sure that they when they realize it's a whole lot cooler in the water they will be in all the time. We'll be glad to come down and coax them in, your pool looks so inviting!:)

OH MY GOSH! How adorable is he??? That wet look is soooooo FUNNY!!!!

Im so jealous! My boys HATE water. well one HATES water, the other will come in IF he can be held by me the whole time, he does not want to actually be IN the water! They both can swim and both have lifejackets. They just don't want to. My Fletch gets sooo mad when we put him in the pool.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I am just so proud of him. He's really taking to the boat and water. We didn't know how he would do with either, but he's becoming an ol' salty dog. :D
