Hi, There are some really beautiful yorkiea in this section. I was curious if any of you have ever seen or owned a red or golden yorkie. I have some puppies that were born in early march. They are purebred yorkies, one of the puppies is a red or golden color, she looks just like a yorkie but her color is different. I looked it up on the net and found that this does happen on occasion. I will enclose of photo of her, and any info would be helpful.

Oh my she's a beauty.
There are a couple here on YT. Hopefully someone will post pictures.
Try doing a search on Golden Yorkie above and see what comes up.

She's really cute. There are a few on here. It's considered a "fault" because of the color variant.

I have a golden also (two were born in a litter of mine in 2005). Yours is beautiful!!!! I consider mine a tremendous blessing and kept her (as I'd suggest you do...you WON'T regret it!). Mine is AKC and registered as such. Here are some pictures if you'd like to see what yours may resemble as she grows....

Thank you for the compliments on my Mercedes. She is an awesome girl! It was this EXACT kind of thread that brought me here the day my babies were born. Here I am, 3 years and over 4,000 posts later:D

Wow!!!! YT is fab! I'd never heard of golden yorkies before I joined! I know its considered a fault in the show world but they are sooo beautiful! I would have to keep her if she were mine!!!:):):)

She is selling this little girl now but calling her red :confused:.

I love the look of the "goldens", they are so pretty!

Your baby is absolutely adorable, as are all of the others pictured here. Beautiful coloring!

I am seriously thinking about maybe keeping her after seeing how pretty they are as adults. Mercedez is gorgeous (Julz). I am curious why they have the color variant? Does anyone have an idea what causes this? I like it and see it is beautiful, but also a fault and really doesnt happen very often. I see now that the mother of the puppies that had 2 in her litter was actually a golden and yet the mother of mine was not. :cool: I think I would have to keep her too if she was mine. She is adorable, and rare. Just beautiful. Look at that sweet face of hers. ;)

She's so cute! I had to do research for a paper that I did on backyard breeders and I found information about golden yorkies being considered a flaw, and they are not recognized by the AKC. But thats all I read about them.
