Cheri needs POSITIVE thoughts today.... I know I'm a weenie - but this was really hard.....I just left my baby Cherish to do her Spay surgery and pull teeth I'm going to always remember the image of her sitting in that awful cage.... with her shocked face...and her little head cocked watching me walk away ...I've NEVER left her like this - she's never been in a cage without Chanel with her....and she looked truly amazed that I left her. Why do these babies have the kind of face that just MELTS us ? I was crying all the way home -it's going to be the longest day. Before I left her - I went around and made everyone SWEAR to me that they would watch out for her like she's their CHILD ...I DO like her doctor - she just called me...we had another talk and she's really nice. She promised she'd call me as soon as it's over. What should I bring to pick her up with ? She has her little blankey a friend/member handmade for her ...but that's all ....Man...I'm so sick to my stomach... Please keep Cheri close to you today - I want my baby home.... |
Please know Cheri will be in my thoughts today! It is so hard to leave them, especially when they do that head tilt :( Keep us posted! Lots of love and hugs! Fran and Sammi |
Awww poor little Cheri! I KNOW she'll be perfectly fine. They're probably kissing and hugging her right now. I bet they're even tickeling her little feet. :D I would bring a blanket to hold her in and her favorite toy, although she'll probably be too tired to play with it. Just make sure you give her LOTS and LOTS of kisses from me, Codie and Katie! We'll all praying for Cheri! :D |

I wasn't going to even post about this - but I'm trying to force this day to go faster and time always flies when I'm here - funny how hours can go by and it feels like minutes when we're reading and posting.... problem is...that's just not happening today ...Thanks though - It really helps talking about it. |
Hang tough Mom....she'll be home soon!!! |
Villette, I know what you mean about those little faces.. They just melt our hearts!! I would have cried all the way home as well.. I can't think of anything to bring when you pick her up.. My first thought was maybe her favorite treat.. but she probubly wont be in the mood for that.. Cheri will just be happy that you came and that will be all she wants I'm sure.. Kisses and Hugs to your little Doll Face.. |
Don't forget Chanel!! Can Chanel go with you to pick her up? They are so close it would probably be a good comfort, but then she will have her mom!! She'll be fine and enjoying being spoiling at home in no time! Now how can you make the day go faster.... That's a hard one! |
Our thoughts are with you and Cheri today! I know it's tough. I tried not to get too worked up about Tatum's surgery and she flew through it great. One thing I haven't heard anyone say here yet is something about the stitches. Tatum had little wire (real fine wire) stitches on her incision. The vet said that keeps them from licking the wound like they tend to do with regular stitches. I haven't heard any one else say they had those but it worked great for Tatum. I know you'll be oh, so relieved when you go pick her up. I remember my vet saying to try not to treat her differently when I took her home - just make sure she's comfy and don't make a huge fuss over anything. I guess they don't want you to turn them into a little weinie baby or something with all the coddling. ;) I did stay home from work with her the next day but she was just fine. Good luck and I'll be watching for your update! |

Poor Cheri! When do you find out how it went? You and Cheri will be in mine and Lucy's thoughts and prayers today, and I know she will come through just fine! |
The eyes are the windows to the soul... :) Those eyes can melt the hardest heart in the world, can't they? They can also send you home in tears when you leave them...She'll be ok. She'll be so groggy, probably, when you go get her that she won't even know where she's at. I know she's in good hands, 'cause you wouldn't leave her with anyone but the best. Let us know how she is. ;) |
:) ;) I'm sure everything will be fine. I hope she has a quick & speedy recovery. I will have both of you in my thoughts today. :) ;) |
Poor Cheri! DOn't worry, she will be fine! Chanel will be there to greet her with kisses when she comes home :) |
Woooooooo hoooooooo they just called to tell me they just finished - We got there at 6:30 this morning and it's now 10 am - I can go get her at 4pm...that was FAST !! :thumbs up :thumbs up :thumbs up :thumbs up :thumbs up :thumbs up THANK YOU All for keeping me company ....This wasn't THAT bad now that it's over - Easy to say NOW isn't it ? lol Now I just have to sit tight for 6 more hours - I wonder if they'll let me go earlier to get her ?....nope - I'll do what the doctor says and wait...I sure don't want to take any chances. THANK YOU FOR HELPING ease the anxious moments - You guys are the BEST !! |
Villette- I'm sure everything will be fine. I can imagine how you feel. I left Olivia at the groomer on Saturday morning and nearly cried when I got to the car because she gave me a pleading look like "Mom, please don't leave me here!" I'm sending positive thoughts your way for a successful surgery and Olivia has her paws crossed that all goes well. Let us know when you get the call that Cheri is out of surgery. EDITED: You posted while I was. So glad that everything went well!! |
Villette---I just saw this but it's ok your babies are always in my thoughts! I'm glad it is over. Give her tons of kisses from me, SImon and Hallie!!! |

Thanks again - this really DID help posting about it ! |
awww your not a weenie!!! I'm sure Cheri knows you wouldn't leave her forever. i will keep you, cheri, and chanel in my thoughts and prayers today! its going to be a looong day thats for sure, but maybe you can make some frames or something to make it go faster! i'll be thinking of you! |
Villette, your baby is going to be just fine!! Zeus and I will be sending her (and you) good thoughts and hugs today! :) |
is there someone else who can drive you to pick her up? That way all you have to do is hold Cheri and love on her all the way home! :p I'm glad to hear that the surgery is over and everything is fine. I know what a weight is lifted off of you when you know the worse is over. Now just get your daily chores done so that you can devote the rest of your day to Cheri when she gets home!! |
Villette...I'm so glad the surgery is behind you and all went well! I remember how sick with worry I was when I had Maddie spayed and I had the appointment for a couple months ahead of time and as the time grew nearer, I got sicker! Leaving them there...watching their pleading eyes as if to say, "Don't leave me," just tears at the heartstrings! One suggestion I have would be to get her a onesie to wear so that she can't get at her stitches. Those collars are so bothersome, and the onesies are so comfy. Maddie couldn't leave her incision alone, so someone here suggested a onesie and she was so cute in them. I hope the time flys by and you have her back with you in no time! Maddie sends puppy kisses to you and your girls! |
Hugs sent your way... Villette, I just read this post....just walked in the door ...Sophie got her last shots and rabies today...(ugg) :( and kind of knew something was up when I saw what you responded to on one of our Yorkie members doggies losing teeth... You mentioned Cheri and teeth...but she is being spayed too...I'm glad you just got called....she is snoozing right now I'm certain... ;) You can call in a few hours and check on her...that always helps...and it won't be long till you get her...Do let us know how she is.... I will be having Sophie done...just haven't set my mind on an age...How old is Cheri? You hang in there....hugs to you! |
Villette, one more word of warning/advice..... When I picked Tatum up from her surgery, we got not a half a mile down the road and she threw up.... just a little - more like a spit up. So I pulled over and called the vet right away in case they would want me to bring her back and they said that this was pretty normal and she was just feeling queasy from the anesthetics. Sure enough, she was eating normally within a few hours. Just be prepared JUST IN CASE Cheri is a bit queasy. And try to keep her a little quiet for the rest of the day. So glad she came through with flying colors! |
Yeah! So glad to hear everything went well. Told ya so, told ya so, told ya so! It is very scarey taking them and leaving them there. Their little expressions just melt your heart. Tell Chanel she's going to have to calm down for a couple days  to help Cheri recover. Just bring Cheri her favorite toy. Even though she can't play with it, she'll be happy she has it. Good luck this week! |
I'm so glad to se you are feeling better. Now, just think in the morning she will be acting like nothing ever happened and you'll be having a heartattact tring to get her to sit still. |
Best wishes to you and Cheri today! Our thoughts will be with you and both of the girls... |
