I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | ![]() I'm pretty sure I know what you are all thinking....NO, I did not get another baby......BUT, someone VERY close to me did, and her new baby is from a YT member! ![]() Almost exactly 1 month ago, YT member JackandJill (Margaret) contacted me about her little girl, Kenzi. Margaret knew that my mom was looking for a little Yorkie girl and she and her husband had decided that they needed to re-home their little Kenzi. This was an EXTREMELY heartbreaking decision for Margaret and Al (her husband) to make. They had went back and forth about it for quite some time. Over the past several months, Kenzi and Margaret's other Yorkie girl, Jilly, had not been getting along. They were fighting quite badly (like little Pit Bulls!) and Margaret and Al were very scared that one of them were going to get seriously hurt if they did not do something about it soon. So, after much thought and consideration, they decided that re-homing little Kenzi was unfortunately what HAD to be done. It was for Kenzi AND Jilly's best interest. After several PM's and e-mails back and forth, we decided that little Kenzi would be absolutely PERFECT for my mom. Living with my mom, she would be an "only child" and be very well taken cared of and extremely spoiled, just like a little Princess should be, which is exactly what miss Kenzi is! I just KNEW that it was meant to be as "Kenzi" is the name that my mom had always wanted to name her Yorkie girl whenever she found one. When I told my mom that the little Yorkie's name was Kenzi, she just about fell over! Also, when Margaret asked where in Texas we lived, SHE just about fell over and said that she actually had family here! Margaret and Al live in Wisconsin....WHAT A SMALL WORLD!! So as you can see, everything was just totally falling into place and we all knew at this point that it was DEFINITELY meant to be. The next challenge was trying to figure out how we were going to get Kenzi down here. Margaret didn't think that Kenzi would do well on a plane by herself, so she and Al decided that instead of flying Kenzi on her own, or instead of flying down here with her, they would just make a little vacation out of it and drive down here to Texas to bring little Kenzi to my mom. They did just that, and they arrived last Saturday (April 26th) with Kenzi. Since Margaret's step son and daughter in law live here and they hadn't seen them in a while, they stayed a week and had a nice visit with them ![]() When they arrived Saturday morning at my mom's house to bring little Kenzi (hubby and I were there also) it was a happy time for us, but so very heartbreaking for Margaret and Al. As I was telling Margaret, it was just very bittersweet. There were many, many tears that were shed. Margaret knew that it was going to be hard, but she didn't actually visulalize handing Kenzi over to someone else and leaving her there - it was heartwrenching. Kenzi was extremely, extremely loved by Margaret and Al, and VERY well taken care of. She arrived in a precious little dress with her hair done up in a little clip, freshly groomed and smelling wonderful! She is as CUTE as a button! Very tiny and short, short, short to the ground! lol...just precious. Her hair is sooooo incredibly soft, I just could not get over it! Anyway, back to the initial meeting. Margaret and Al brought all of Kenzi's things (bed, blankets, toys, food, treats, clothes, hair bows and clips, a year supply of Heartguard, etc., etc.) and she was so thoughtful and even brought my mom an adorable Yorkie calendar! ![]() When it came time to say goodbye, the tears were flowing. Margaret and Al were both extremely upset which was totally understand. It broke our hearts to watch them go through this. I can't imagine having to do what they did. They are very strong and very brave and tried to put all of their feelings aside so that they could do what was best for Kenzi. With Kenzi and Jilly fighting, it just wasn't working and it wasn't safe for either baby. At one point their fighting got so bad that Kenzi ending up with a bleeding gum and Jilly was limping (I think I have that right...don't I Margaret? Or was it the other way around? LOL). Anyway, as difficult for them as it was, re-homing Kenzi is just what had to be done for the safety of both babies. Margaret and I didn't not tell ANYONE about any of this. I did tell a few YT members that my mom would soon be getting a new baby, but they had no idea who the baby was or that she was coming from a YT member. We chose to do it this way incase things didn't work out with my mom and Kenzi. We wanted to wait until they arrived before we said anything as we wanted to see how Kenzi and her new cousins, Stedman and Tatum all got along. My husband and I waited about 3 or 4 days for Kenzi to kind of "settle in" before we introduced her to Stedman and Tatum. When the day finally came to introduce them, we did so by meeting outside with them and taking them all on a walk. They did GREAT together. After the walk was over and we brought them back inside, we kept them on the leashes and just kind of let them "sniff each other out". That way, if a fight did happen to break out, we could pull back on their leashes to stop them. Luckily, nothing happened other than a few little growls from Kenzi warning Stedman to BACK OFF because he was being Mr. Annoying ![]() It has been just over a week now (a week and 1 day to be exact) since Margaret has brought little Kenzi into our lives and what a JOY she has been! We are all sooo in love with this little girl already. All of the babies (Stedman, Tatum and Kenzi) are getting along EXTREMELY well. They are pretty much used to each other by now as they have all seen each other just about every single day since their initial meeting. Either they go to Kenzi's house to play, or Kenzi comes to ours ![]() ![]() ![]() I cannot tell you how incredibly nice Margaret and Al are. These are some of the sweetest people I have ever met in my life. I feel truly blessed to have been able to meet them and get to know them. They are WONDERFUL people. To Margaret and Al - It was an absolute JOY to meet you guys. I hope and pray that we will be able to meet again one day. And hey - there is no escaping us now! We know that you guys have family here and the next time you are down, you BETTER stop by!! Little Kenzi would love to see you guys again one day, I just know it ![]() ![]() For all you curious YT'ers out there.....FINALLY....here are pictures of the little miss KENZI! Since there are wayyyy too many pictures to post, I will only actually upload a few and the rest will be in a montage that I made (the link is posted below). The first and last picture in the montage is the very last picture that I took of Margaret and Kenzi before Margaret and Al left ![]() P.S. - I have typed too much in this thread and it won't let me post it all so I have to finish it in another post that will be following this one below (WOW, I typed ALOT!!) LOL! Here is the link to Kenzi's Montage: Welcome Home Sweet Kenzi! at One True Media - share slideshows, slide shows, MySpace slideshows, MySpace codes, free video sharing, video montages.

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | ![]() P.S. - Margaret...whenever you see this, guess where Kenzi went yesterday??? To her favorite place on earth....DQ!! ![]() ![]() Also I think I might be babysitting her today. My mom needs to go to the store later but doesn't want to leave Kenzi by herself yet (she hasn't been left alone once in the week that she's had her) so I told her DUH....bring her to me ![]() ![]()

| ![]() aww Kenzi is a dollbaby. What a wonderful unselfish thing to do. Just watching her videos made me cry too. It must have been so heartwrenching for them. But she will be so loved and safe now.

| ![]() Okay, pass the tissues. What a beautiful little girl. I really feel for Margaret and Al...that's sooo hard to do. I am glad, though, that Kenzi is getting along well in her new home. Congratulations to your Mom.
