It was only a mini meetup by SoCal standards, but for us simple country-folk Alaskans, my wife and I had a blast hooking up with Corinne, Lisa and Lauren for an impromptu meetup last week.

I wasn't sure we were going to be able to carve out any time to meet anyone, but we managed to get a two-hour window at the last minute. Corinne took care of us. We met at a dog-friendly cafe, then drove a mile to a dog beach. It was the highlight of our trip so far.

If anyone doubted how cool Jazzie, Sukoshi and Mango are, let me tell you they are ALL YORKIE. Mango couldn't make it to the beach, but Jazzie and Sukoshi had a blast along with Eddie and Jack. And they all got along great. Here are a few pictures from the cafe and the beach.

1. Here's Corinne, Lisa, Kelly, Lauren and me holding our pups.
2. Jack was the only one brave enough to body surf. Of course, he was the only one slow enough to get caught in the tide.
3. Jazzie and Sukoshi played like they were best friends.
4. Here's Sukoshi trying to plant a big, wet Yorkie kiss on Eddie.

5. Jack got cold on the beach. I was glad I brought his warm fleece coat.
6. Jack and Eddie loved Sukoshi's beach attire.
7. Jazzie may have been second-oldest to Jack, but that didn't slow her down.
8. Sukoshi kept the other dogs away from her new boyfriends.

omg when did you go to Cali??! :eek: You're soo lucky! Looks like so much fun! I love the 4th pic :p It does really look like Sukoshi was chasing Eddie for that kiss!

Oh wow! Jack and Eddie at the beach! :D I love that last picture on the first post of Eddie running away, he has a genuine look of fright at the idea of being kissed by a girl! :rolleyes:

That photo of Jazzie is great, she looks SO happy just running along! I wish you lived nearer me or fancied a trip to the UK, you take such great action shots and I'd love some of Gypsy! :D

Thanks everybody. Beaches are a blast. I was afraid the dogs would be afraid, but they had a blast.

We're still here but now in northern california. We're mooching off friends and relatives two days at a time.

And Sukoshi is absolutely adorable..she looks so tiny as compared to Jazzie.

How fun!!! I wish we could have been there with all of you!!! Thanks for sharing your beach adventures. Jack and Eddie may boycott the Alaskan Tundra now, especially if Jack got cold at the beach!!

Thanks for posting pics Mike! I LOVE that you can see Sukoshi's reflection in the water in #6 (although her "beach attire" looks to have slid to the other side of her so she's showing a lot of thigh :eek: ), and Eddie really does look genuinely afraid of girl cooties in #4 :D !!! Of course, like I said in an earlier PM to you...Sukoshi was only interested in Jack and Eddie as FRIENDS, as we know her heart belongs to Diggy :wub: ! We had a great time meeting up with you and Kelly. And it was wonderful seeing the boys again :thumbup: !

You are the action-shot Master!! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:I swear I don't know how you manage to capture those exact moments that are just so perfect. That pic of little Sukoshi, tongue a'hanging, chasing after her (platonic) Beau Eddie, is just priceless. I love how you caught that, with him running with the wind, eyes darting to the side - checking to see if he was making a clean get-away from his adorable stalker.......:yelrotflm
I so enjoyed meeting you and Kelly. I am only sorry I could not make it to the beach with you. Your boys are even more precious in real life. It's amazing how well you have trained them! Like I said, can I puhleeeease :hands:send my demented Mango to the Mike School for Yorkies??
