Meet our new rescue Smokey!

Hi! My name is Smokey! I've had a rough beginning of my life and I'm only about 6 months old. This is at least my 5th home and I'm hoping it's permanent. I started out in this horrible place where I was cramped up with my brothers, sisters, mom and other dogs. The humans call it a puppy mill. Then I was given to this lady that was sitting all the time in this thing with wheels. She had to give me up to another lady that lived in this cool place with a bunch of dogs. I liked this place. She kept me for awhile then I went to another cool place, but I wasn't there for long. I went back to the other lady who gave me to my new mommy now. I have a big brother that is smaller than me. He doesn't seem to like me much right now, but I'm trying to make friends with him. I like my new home! I hope I can stay awhile!

That's wonderful that you adopted Smokey from a rescue. :smile: It does sound like he's been passed around. Poor guy. I'm sure Smokey and his big brother will be best friends soon. Best Wishes to all of you.

update on smokey
 
He really is such a sweet boy. This morning I took him outside and it was just him and I. He looked at me and made the weird bark/growl noise that he does then sat down in front of me. I just looked at him then he barked and put his paw on my knee like "pet me!!" I still just looked at him and he got up on his hind legs and started "dancing". It was so comical. He is quite the entertainer!

He needs a lot of one on one training, but he is actually very well behaved. The potty training is the biggest thing and I think he needs help with nervousness. We'll do anything we can to make him feel better!

Chip and him finally found an even ground and are now getting along. Chip still isn't 100% sure, but is at least tolerating him for now. He layed next to him earlier and I was able to get a couple shots of them together. They were play fighting earlier for about an hour. I'm glad they are starting to get along.

Oh my goodness what a sad story and what a cutie...I'm quite positive that you've found a forever home with lots of love to go with it! :D Your such a sweet angel to adopt this poor baby! Congratulations on the new addition!:aimeeyork
