| Hi there. Welcome to YT! Chloe is taking the eight week puppy class. Monday made class number two...so far so good. Chloe and I are both learning. A lot. She's my very first dog and I humbly admit that I am not exactly skilled in the training department. Our trainer is AWESOME and there is just one other dog taking it with us--I love that. Chloe gets a) to socialize with that now familiar dog and b) gets a lot of one on one with the trainer. That alone makes it all worth it. So far she's learned to sit, look and rollover using treats (they provided) and a reinforcement clicker (also provided). What he's teaching her isn't rocket science but I'm impressed with the way he gets her to learn. It really sticks and we keep at it at home. I highly recommend it. Be sure to let me know how it goes for you if you do sign up!

| Thanks sooo much Lisa- this helps tremendously. I am also a novice so it will be a learning experience. My little Zoe isnt here yet- not til June but I am trying to get things set up for her arrival. I think I will sign up for the puppy class and I will definitely keep you posted. Sounds like Chloe is doing really well--that's great! Will be in touch.

| I've taken Chip from Beginner thru to Advanced at PetSmart, and Harley just finished Beginner. Chip was so good after Beginner, I took him for the CGC test.

| When to start? When did you all begin with training (what age)? My breeder told me not to take my baby around other dogs before her shots are all up to date and that won't be until she's about 16 weeks. I wanted to begin training almost as soon as she gets here. Any help? |

| Meeko started their puppy classes when he was 4 months old. I loved the classes. It definitely helped me train him but, the best part was the socialization. I recommend their classes!

| PetSmart offers classes for puppies as young as 10 weeks. I guess it really depends how far along you are with the shots.

| Is that accurate? Is 16 weeks about the right time for the first round to be completed? |

| Thanks so much. Well I am glad you and Oscar got something out of it and socialization from what I understand is VERY important. Once my Zoe gets her shots, we'll give the class a try. Thank you all for your feedback.

| Update So we're into week 3 of class and Zoe is doing really well- she knows 'sit' 'down' and how to walk properly on a leash (and harness). She is the tiniest in the class (a whopping 2.14lbs) but makes up for it in personality. We're currently working on 'leave it' 'drop it' and 'take it'. She adores Harley a shy male yorkie and she likes to taunt Sobee a chow chow but she keeps her distance from the labradoodle (forgot her name). The instructor is great- he really KNOWS dogs and his goal by the end of the session is that all the dogs have learned all that was taught but most importantly, that they all get along with each other.
