You had mentioned paralysis in a previous post and then said he had fell off the couch. I wonder if he had atlantoaxial instablity which can be caused by the trauma by falling http://www.japanesechinonline.org/he...lantoaxial.doc

| First of all, I am so very sorry for your loss. This must be so difficult for you, and the fact that the autopsy was inconclusive just stinks... Miko was prescribed Rimadyl after a surgery about 2 yrs ago, and he became severely ill while on that medicine. We were scared for his life. About 2 days after we stopped the medicine, he started recovering. It was very scary. I've read that rimadyl can cause liver failure and all kinds of problems in a certain percentage of dogs...Sorry I don't have the exact number.

| How cool is that. Please post pictures of Emma so I can compare. Also would like to see a picture of Muldoon as he sounds like he was a wonderful boy and a very much loved boy. I really feel for you as I just went through a scare with my little girl. She went in for a dental and had two teeth taken out (she is only four) I thought it was odd in a yorkie so young but the vet said that they were detached from the ligament and were very easy to take out. Anyway the point is they do pre-surgery blood work and found that white and red blood cells were way low. She was put on a round of antibiotics doxycycline and vitamins. Well my little one's tummy did not do well on the antibiotics or the vitamins. We added pepcid to the mix and stopped the vitamins, and she tolerated the doxy. Another blood test and her white has gone up but not her red. Another round of doxy more vomiting more pepcid another blood test, after three bouts of doxy and another blood test we finally got both up but she will have to go back in 2 months to get checked again. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Now with the dog food recall something else to worry about. I noticed that Muldoon was given rimadyl, my little girl had a really bad reaction to that stuff also. You see she has had a tough life. She was diagnosed with luxating patella in both legs when she was 14 months old left leg was the worst but it was cheaper to have both done at once. She went to an orthopedic surgeon who does these operations all the time so home equity loan and 2,500.00 dollars later. Poor little girl was in double casts for 4 weeks. She seem improved for a little while but then she started picking the left one up again, back to surgery to take pins out as vet thought pins might be catching on skin causing her issues. Another 4 weeks and okay for awhile and she is right back to where she was before first operation. Her left knee locks once in a while causing her pain as she cries out. When she trots she picks it up but when she runs full tilt it does not seem to bother her. Sorry I rambled on so but please posts some pictures of Emma. Take care, Jay |

| I am so sorry about your loss. It sounds like that vet sucks! I wouldn't take anymore of my dogs there if I were you. Your dog really needed there help and they didn't see it or maybe the pills they gave him just made him sick. But I wouldn't take any more dogs there. |
