We had Homer from 9 weeks old (according to the humane society, where I got him) to the ripe old age of 13. Pretty good for a big dog.
Yorkiemom55, I didn't mean to hijack this thread, but 10 years later, I still grieve for my old Homer-dog. I can't even imagine what will happen to me when something happens to Huey. He is so much more my child than even Homer was.
Yeah, I know. These old ladies who never had kids who dote on their yorkies...

Marilyn, that's a beautiful story about your love for Homer. Please don't ever feel you need to apologize for telling about it. That's what this RIP section & this thread is for. I have kids and they swear the dogs are treated better than they ever were.
We are doing better today. Yesterday morning I got up and started to fix 4 bowls of food, then I looked down and there were only 3 excited faces looking up at me with stubby tails wagging..... not 4. They were living in the moment, excited for breakfast like they are every day.

Rip sweet Maggie. It is so hard watching them go through all this and your heart wants to feel relief that they are no longer suffering but it doesn't stop the hurt and the missing them, only God and time can do that. Sending prayers for you and your family.
