We have lost our first Yorkie Max yesterday at the age of 13. He had a treat stuck in his throat. We found out he also had an enlarged heart and liver. We tried to save him but the surgery was to much for him. The little guy came out of surgery and waited for my husband to pick him up and then his heart stopped. The vet got it beating again but she said he was suffering so much and we needed to let him go. We did everything we could. We lost a bernese mountain dog in Dec. I have 1 little yorkie left Gidget. She is lost right now and seems alittle depresses. I am sure she know what is going on.
Broken hearts, our animals bring us so much joy. Its hard to let them go.

So sorry for your loss. I can only imagine the pain you are feeling.
FYI, I just read another post fom someone about 6 hours from you who needs to rehome due to a toddler in the house. Not sure if this is something you would even be receptive to, but I thought the timing was kinda serendipitous, as well as not being incredibly far away (300+miles). http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...furbabies.html
Just a thought.

I'm happy Max was able to see your husband again, and deeply sorry for your loss. Give Gidget a good hug and one for your husband too. Wish I could be there to give you one. There just isn't much heartbreak that can compare.

The love of a Yorkie is great and the loss is heartbreaking. I am glad you were able to have him and love him and now he is not suffering anymore. He is over that rainbow bridge running with my Teddy Peanut. How we loved that rambunctious little Teddy. He left us at 10yrs. He left happy memories I cherish and you will too. I will pray for comfort for you as you go through the days ahead. Get another dog. We now have JoJo and he has brought some laughs to us.
