My Peppi is gone...

I'm so very sorry for the loss of your dearest Peppi. RIP Sweet Peppi Girl.

Bloating is so traumatic... some dogs are just prone to it and no matter what precautions the owner takes, they will eventually end up bloating anyway. For Peppi to have lived such a long life is testament of your loving care and attention to her special needs.

Surgery for Bloating is also very traumatic for the dog. I've seen young, otherwise healthy dogs not make it through, and the younger ones have the best chance for survival.

You made the kindest, most loving, and unselfish decision in choosing to help her on her Journey Home.

Sorry for your loss of sweet Peppi. Rest in peace young Lady. It's never easy to leave one of our precious pup's go, But you did the right thing, She had 15 wonderful year;s with you. And i'm sure she was thankful for every second she spent with you. She was a gorgeous pup. I've held a couple of mine when they where put down. I think it help's with the closeual. Will be keeping you and your family in my prayer's. Try to have what's left of the holidays and be thankful for what we all have left.

I am crying for you. You made the right decision for Peppi. No suffering now and it sounds like Peppi was pretty sick. Last year on Dec. 5 my heart was broken. I had to do the same thing. My little Teddy Peanut, a Yorkie only 10 had a stomach obstruction the vet said. She said surgery but no guarantee and he had lost weight. Teddy was precious just like Peppi. We must believe that their creator called them home. They gave us their love and companionship but we must let them go. Do not look back, look up. You will find comfort from above. God gave us animals and their love is still with us. Cry as I do, but be thankful for the time you had with Peppi. I will say prayers for your comfort and hope you will get another dog. I now have JoJo, a Biewer Yorkie. He is not my Teddy but just as cute and precious.

Thank you all for your kind words, you don't know how much it means to me!! It was so hard to be in the Christmas spirit without Peppi here to celebrate it especially thinking about her new toys and treats I got that she didn't get to enjoy for Christmas.

Thank you so much for this!! I never looked at it this way. I'm glad now she was very healthy and active until the end because she didn't suffer for long. She really loved life.

Thank you for this. I felt so much like it was my fault even though I did everything to prevent it. Then I felt guilty for not trying the surgery but the vet said I would most likely only be prolonging her suffering as she wasn't likely to make it due to the extent of damage already done from her stomach twisting that showed on the xrays.

It is just so hard saying goodbye and not having her here anymore.
I know it is a part of life and I'm sure I will go through it many more times but it never gets easier. I am so thankful for all the time and memories I have of Peppi, she will always be in my heart.

It really means so much to me that everyone here understands and cares, I wish I could give you all hugs now.

It is amazing how our hearts can expand to hold so much. They are never replaced in our hearts but rather our hearts grow so we can love another.

So sorry to hear about your loss. I grew up having a couple of Cocker Spaniels and they were such sweet, happy dogs. I'm so glad you were able to have 15 good years with her. What a sad time for you. My heart breaks when I hear of a dog lover loosing their baby.
