| The loss of my precious Abby is still forefront in my mind. I try not to think of her to avoid the tears but there are so many memories she's left behind. I never was able to take a shower without her following me in and patiently waiting to jump in the tub and lick all the sides down. She always danced when it was time to eat. She savored mealtime and never missed even one meal. She always got excited when I threw the laundry basket down the stairs to the basement so she could chase it, and she always joined me when I went to the basement to wash. So many strange quirks but all of them were her. There isn't a person who met her that didn't fall in love with her. I called her my "Walmart Greeter". She just loved people. She was diagnosed with mitral valve disease, was given 6 months to live and she lived for two more happy years, just 4 days before her 7th birthday. She loved life and her tail moved her whole body with excitement any time she wasn't sleeping. I have never owned a happier dog. My heart aches for one more kiss. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I know that most of you have been through this and will likely go through it again but the love of a dog, no matter how short, is the best comfort you can find on earth and a memory that will last a lifetime. Happy Birthday my little love bug. I miss you so much. You have touched my heart and I will be forever greatful to you for sharing your love with me. I will always have your footprints on my heart. | I'm so sorry Jackie! Each dog touches our lives in different ways. I couldn't imagine going through life without a 4 legged companion by my side. I hope in time your happy memories will bring you comfort.... |
