My heart is broken
 

Today started just like any other day expect we have been at my oldest daughters as she had a baby boy last Thursday. Started the day out taking the dogs out for their buisness and then back in. Enjoying the day with the grandkids.

This afternoon i told my grand daughter we would fill her little pool. Which is just like the one i have at home. And Lexi and her could play as Lexi loves the water. Everything was going great. Lexi was having a ball. Then all of a sudden she got her allergic reaction thing going on No Bees around. So I told my daughter I needed to run to the store and get her benadryl which we have used before. And if that didn't help I would get her to the the vet. The store is not even a mile from there home.
I get back to find Lexi in very bad shape. I get her in my vechile and rushing to the vets office. She dies in my car on the way.. I am just heartbroken. I always believed it was because of a bee sting but now am wondering if it had something to do with water. She loved loved playing in the pool and the lake. I drove her the two hours home with her next to me in a bed petting her the whole way. My son in law had a nice place at my home ready to bury her. And my daughter had flowers to place on her grave.

Lexi I loved you so much and do not know how I will function without you
You made me smile and laugh everyday And you loved me so much and I loved you. I will miss you my princess. I wish our time would have been much much longer. Rest in peace my little angel.

thanks everyone i am having a hard time going to bed as she always cuddled with me life will not be the same without her. it hurts so much

To have loved and then said farewell is better than to have never loved at all. For all of the times that you have stooped and touched my head, fed me my favorite treat and returned the love that I so unconditionally gave to you. For all the care that you gave to me so unselfishly - for all these things I am grateful and thankful.

I ask that you not grieve for the loss, but rejoice in the fact that we lived, loved and touched each other’s lives. My life was fuller because you were there, not as a master/owner, but as my FRIEND.

Today I am as I was in my youth. The grass is always green, butterflies flit among the flowers, and the sun shines gently down upon all of God’s creatures. I can run, jump, play, and do all of the things that I did in my youth. There is no sickness, no aching joints, no regrets, and no aging.

We await the arrival of our lifelong companions and know that togetherness is forever. You live in our hearts as we do in yours. Companions such as you are so rare and unique. Don’t hold the love that you have within yourself. Give it to another like me, and then I will live forever. Love never really dies, and you are loved and missed as surely as we are.
