I lost little Aggie to a pit bull...

After wanting a yorkie for over 35 yrs, my yorkie ended up adopting me. My daughter and her husband stayed with us for a short time and their 2 yr old , 3 lb Gizmo and I just clicked. My daughter left him with me saying we were made for each other. I loved this dog passionately for the next five years. Two years ago, we took a cruise with my daughter and so had to leave Gizzy with a kennel. I visited them all and left them with one that agreed to keep Gizzy and my German Shepard Rashi together, knowing that Rashi would protect his little best friend. When we returned from the cruise, we learned that they had let another dog get to my beloved baby and he was killed. They claimed that Rashi was "unresponsive" and did nothing to keep the other dog from killing Gizzy. LIARS!!! I HATE THESE PEOPLE !! They never even said they were sorry.

My poor husband has tried to replace my baby with two other yorkies. I truly miss my Gizzy still and always will ,but have fallen in love with Daisy and Cash. When we go for walks, we have to watch out for many large loose dogs in the neighborhood. We carry a large stick and always have them on a harness. We have had to snatch them up off the street more than once. I hate always having to be scared to take our babies for a walk.

I am so sorry this happened, this breaks my heart.

lbrady013, I am so sorry for your loss too. I know you are heartbroken. We nearly lost a little one at a kennel once and have never left our babies with anyone since then. If we can't take them with us we don't go. I just don't trust them.

I am so very sorry about Aggie. Poor little thing. Sometimes people are just IGNORANT, as are the owners of the pit. I hope action can be taken against the dog and the dog's owners, and that the apartment complex also steps up to the plate and kicks these people out.

A horrible way for your baby to be taken from you. We have so many mindless and heartless people in this world. We know how we love and cherish our furbabies, unfortunately we have people who are idiot owners; instead of being actual loving and responsible parents to their dogs. My heart and prayers reach out to you and your furbaby.

Fast forward 3 years.... They called me today and told me that they were walking Aggie on her lead at the appartment complex where they lived when someone opened a door and a pit bull raced out and killed Aggie while on her lead. It happened so fast and was so un-expected. The owners of the pit bull were extremely rude and told them that they could go buy another dog in the paper. Needless to say, the owners of Aggie are going to sue these red-necks and hopefully get that dog put down as it turns out this is not the first time this dog has attacked. They are devistated by this.

I AM TRYING TO READ ABOUT THE ONES WHO HAVE LOST THEIR BABIES. I AM SO SORRY. I LOST MY BABY A YEAR AGO. SHE WAS A 3lb. 9oz, BUT SHE HAD GOTTEN SICK. SHE HAD PANCREATITIS 3 TIMES & HAD NEVER BEEN FED FROM THE TABLE. THEY SAY THAT IS WHAT CAUSES IT MOST OF THE TIME. WITH ANJALIQUE I GUESS IT WAS JUST ONE OF THOSE THINGS. IT TAKES A LONG TIME, BUT FINALLY THE TEARS & HURT WILL TURN TO PRECIOUS MEMORIES & SMILES WHEN YOU THINK OF HER. THE PANCRETITIS DAMAGED HER LIVER & SHE BECAME DIABETIC WITH IN 7 MONTHS SHE WAS LOOSING HER EYE SIGHT. SHE DID NOT LET THAT STOP HER. SHE HAD THE BIGGEST WILL POWER I OR MY VETS HAD EVER SEEN. I GUESS HER LITTLE HEART JUST COULDN'T TAKE ANYMORE. SHE DIED OF A HEART ATTACH IN THE BED BETWEEN ME & MY HUSBAND WITH OUR HANDS ON HER. THE LADY I GOT ANJALIQUE FROM HEARD ABOUT IT & CAME ACROSS A BEAUTIFUL LITTLE 4yr. OLD YORKIE & LET ME ADOPT HER. SHE IS BEAUTIFUL & I ALREADY LOVE HER SO MUCH. I MET THIS LADY ABOUT 24yrs. AGO & I WILL ALWAYS BE GRATEFUL TO HER FOR UNDERSTANDING WHAT I WAS GOING THROUGH & GIVING ME MY OTHER BABY TO LOVE. I HAVE 3 OTHER DOGS. THEY ARE 14, 13 & 8yrs. OLD.

i am afraid i agree with the ass kicking deal. I would have been all over them like white on rice. I hope they pay dearly for that pit bull doing this. Sue their pants off. Those dogs can be dangerous, their owners need to take proper precautions, but i believe it is all in the way they are raised. I have a dear friend that has one & she is just a big old baby. She has never tried to hurt my babies. She might lick then to death as a matter of fact she is protective of fancy. Maybe it is because she knows fancy is little.

I feel for the people involved here and strongly think that all people who think they want to own large dangerous dogs that they should really consider training with professional help I have owned pitbulls and all I can say is it's definetly the owners as any dog, you love them right and you will never have to worry about them hurting a fly. I also agree that it should be the owners put down I mean really it's not the dogs fault they own and trained him to be like that. Very sad for everyone and my prayers go out to all dogs involved

these people would have paid too one way or the other. It must have been horrible to leave him with someone trusting them to take care of him & then him get killed. I lost my little anjalique a year ago, but she had a lot of health problems. I have 4 dogs, (only 1 of them is a yorkie) two are boys & i is another girl like my yorkie (fancy).when we go out of town i have one person that keeps my boys. She is not a kennel & does not keep any other dogs when she keeps my boys, that is a no no!! The 2 girls go with us & if they can't go, we don't go!!
