| Words can't express my sympathy for you and your entire family. I pray that God helps you find the way to heal until you are reunited again. I just finished reading a Dean Koontz book today that revolved around a Golden Retriever Rescue and a special dog (The Darkest Evening of the Year). In it, there was a passage that seemed to just hit me at the moment I read it talking about why we love dogs when we know it will involve pain. But now, after reading about your loss, I think it's an attempt to put words to your pain. I just went and refound the passage: ""Dogs lives are short, too short, but you know that going in. You know the pain is coming, you're going to lose a dog, and there's going to be great anguish, so you live fully in the moment with her, never fail to share her joy or delight in her innocence, because you can't support the illusion that a dog can be your lifelong companion. There's such beauty in the hard honesty of that, in accepting and giving love while always aware it comes with an unbearable price. Maybe loving dogs is a way we do penance for all the other illusions we allow ourselves and for the mistakes we make because of those illusions." ..... Dear God, she heard nothing awkward in that. In that was the perfect truth of her eight years in rescue, as she could never have put it into words."

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | My baby is now at rest. We just had the most beautiful funeral for her. It was very well attended. My dad made her the cutest little coffin and stained it. We dug a nice hole right in the back. I just ordered a nice head stone for her to put on top of the grave. My BIL is very religious and he provided the prayer. It hurt to cover that little grave but I was able to see my little angel for a couple minutes before we covered her coffin. May she rest in peace and I hope she knows she will always be in my heart.

| I'm crying again here. I feel so bad for you! Thank goodness you have family that is helping you...your dear dad making the coffin, your bil offering prayer. It is so hard to lose a precious one and say goodbye. I hope your new soon-to-be baby will help heal your broken heart. Sending hugs...thinking of you, Beth!
