| Denver Area Vet Recomendations? Seeking a small animal vet in the Denver Area. North Denver is best. Have a new puppy--with possible ear infection! Also would appreciate any recomendations for temporary relief until we find a vet to work with! Thanks, Atticus! |

| I have no idea how far Alameda East is but have you checked into going there? That is where Emergency Vets was filmed. Some people gave it bad reviews online but it looks really nice on TV. Of course Denver is big, so it could be way too far away.

| Vets I've had great experience at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital, also where Bobo the poor baby was brought in. They are wonderful people and so caring. Also- I go to Francis Vet Hospital in Golden. It is close to my house and they are like family. We've been going there for 15 years. Both are great places. |

| I don't know where you are in town but Gentle Touch Animal Hospital is great. The vets and the staff are very kind and it's a very clean office. I took my cat Kakarot into Alameda East's ER last year, I think you should only go when the cameras are on. I took him in because he was obviously very sick and it looked to be something neurological with him. He was using the walls, cabinets, etc., to hold himself upright to walk. And he'd been perfectly fine three days before. Once we got there, they took him back and checked him out and when the vet came out to talk to us, it was just really apparent that she had the idea that I wasn't a very good owner. She checked his ears, but didn't do any blood work. He could've gotten into something, but she never checked for that. They cleaned his ears, gave me some meds, and said to come back if he got worse. 24 hours later Kakarot died before I could even get him to the car. He just died on the way up the stairs to the car. This cat was a stray that adopted us. He got a clean bill of health when we took him to get shots and spayed like 8 months before this happened. This cat never growled, swatted, or bit my daughter who was under a year when we got him. She'd put him in headlocks and pry his mouth open to look at his teeth, and he'd just sigh and wait for her to be done. Losing him was a blow, a huge blow. I mean, we've owned lots of cats over the years and never has one died in my arms like that. It is absolutely horrible to actually see the life go out of an animal I loved so much. I'm crying about it now. It was really a huge blow. But, it put me on the course for dogs. I couldn't imagine owning another cat. My last personal cat was 15 years before Kakarot adopted us. I have three great dogs now and I am very thankful. But the point of my long story was to say I know that the head vet there is a good guy. I used to work with his brother and met him a few times so I had really high expectations for the ER care. I mean here in Denver, when you think ER vet, you think Alameda East. It was just very disappointing because if Kakarot was dying, it was unneccessary to extend what he was going through another minute let alone another day and to have my 2 year old (at the time, she's three now) experience death like that, especially of an animal she loved so much and loved her just as much. Wow. I didn't realize how painful it still is. Although I tell my grandmother her cats conspired against him but my dogs are safe because they don't speack cat lol. |

| I have a terrific vet who practices traditional as well as holistic medicine. He's recently relocated from Boulder to the Arvada Animal Hospital. His name is Dr. Steve Sanderlin. They are located at 66th and Wadsworth. (303) 424-4439.
